There has already been a Mike Tyson movie.

Anywho, I think they should make a film about a struggling mediocre pug (perhaps from somewhere like Philly or somewhere - they could broadly model him on a real life boxer like Chuck Wepner or Marciano or someone). Anyway, the story could be that the world champion, and they should model this guy on a prime Ali without the politics or religion - needs to do an exhibition to commemorate an anniversary or soemthing.

So, they pick this guy, and the film is really about him rather than the fact he is a boxer, and he becomes an icon for the 'little guy', the poor people and the huddled masses by actually making a decent fight agaisnt the Champ.

    What do you think?

    CC X, that's a fantastic idea!!!

This movie has potential, I can almost see the sequals already. The guy you're talking about should be able to fight the most rediculous 2 dimensional bad guys out there to show everyone what it means to be a great guy that never gives up. We can add dimension to this charactor by giving him big muscles, making him stutter, illiterate and beat on meat until his hands are drenched in blood.

It does need some drama, so everyone that is close to him has to die a TRAMATIC Death! --all of course to spur him on to rise to moment. Eventually we can make him even more stupid because of all accumulated punishment, and one day after years of being retired and body building he'll want to come back into the ring once more to rise to the moment.

I love it, who do you think should be the lead? Robert DeNiro, Steven Segal, Chris Farley?

This could turn out to be an epic to inspire generations to come.

Yeah - I think we are onto something there. cc back.

In an effort to make the dumb public think that if you are really thick and inarticulate, as long as you have big muscles and no finesse, as long as you can just take punishment in the ring like Homer Simpson, you will always win. We could then use this to inform our foreign policy, perhaps.

One sequel could be a thinly-disguised morality story about being too big for your boots and forgetting your roots and where you come from. The guy might, for example, find out that he had been fed a diet of stiffs after he won the world title, then when he finds out he orders his manager to get the most dangerous guy out there. In fact, rather than bother writing a story, we should just copy what happened between Patterson and Liston. Then, in a transparent attempt to get black people to watch this tripe, we could get the hero to hook up with the black guys who trained his predeccessor as world champion.

Another sequel could then be full of meaningless shit and end up with a fight against the amateur world champion. We could get round the problem that he would have never fought beyond three rounds and amateur boxing is under different scoring and rules by making the opponent huge and scary. In fact we can insult that entire country by making him part of an institutionalised national drugs cheating scandal. Perhaps he could be the Champion of BALCO.

The final sequel could be that we could hark back to a war fought in the 1960's and get our hero to rescue prisoners with a bow and arrow, while being betrayed by the politicians. The story about a noble and brave army being stabbed in the back by mealy mouthed politicians was one peddled by both the Nazis in WW2 and the Soviets in WW1. I am sure none of us western people would swallow that, so perhaps we could franchise this idea to Bollywood. They may be interested in making an escapist film about the Kashmiri war of separation.

In a cliffhanger, we could then bring our hero back after about ten years. We would find him living in a swamp, happily married and being friendly with a talking donkey. After years in the widerness, he is ignitied by a new found passion that would invigorate him and make him feel young enough to take on the new generation of fighters out there. maybe we could just forget writing a new story and just be Al Gore?

I wouldn't change a thing here, this is the theme we need to teach to future generations how to deal with their problems. We'll tell them that it's okay to be a punching bag as long as you have a bulging heart in the inside. I'll call Everlast on the the phone and see if I we get their name embroidered onto our hero's head to reinforce this idea.

We'll need some comic relief early on in the movie so that our viewers will be able to stomach the tragedies to come. Here's a thought on that just occurred to me! We should use a professional wrestler that fights under the alias of a rejected porno flick to show us the charitable side of our charactor. And speaking of wrestling this reminds me of the time that Muhammad Ali fought a professional Japanese wrestler Antonio Anoki. Upon seeing this connection should adhere to are more educated boxing audience. We be sure to include lots of groping and and body slams to show everyone that our guy can do more that just box skillfully. It's always a good idea to make a real life connection because thats the best way to show truth when everything else is a pack of lies.

So many possibilities with this one, thinking about it I can understand that it doesn't need to have anything to do with boxing at all, we can make this a patriotic piece by having him fight all our political enemies, kind of like a Captain America except with boxing gloves. What do you think of that? We can also repeat the that constant theme that it just matters of what you have in the inside, and that we can all make a difference and be friends. In the fight we can have him like the Grinch that stole Christmas, everytime he gets hit with a 10,000,000 psi punch he just loves him more, and his heart grows 3 pants sizes and shows us what it is to care for one another. This can be used as good diplomacy, whoever we depict as the enemy in our movies we can show them what love is all about.

It's a great idea, and after the big fight with our political rivals our hero should encounter new obstacles close to home, such as Bankruptcy... Leaking Brain Syndrome... Parental Neglect... Cancer... You know X, the list goes on and on, later we should market this to politicians as new outlet to talk about global warming, being a punching bag for other countries. Al Gore world be proud...

I like that, Chris. Especially the fact that we can make up our differences with our enemies by being friends .......... after battering them to a bloody pulp first.

It would be an interesting cinematic theme to have the clear message that it only matters what you have on the inside, yet have this encapsulated by a thick inarticulate musclebound beast that can only express that love and goodness by beating the living shit out of everyone he comes across. A bit like the Hulk really.

I have been thinking about who could play the main characters - Tony Blair is a shoo-in for the talking donkey. What about Peter Kay for the hero ?

Mike Tyson 'Humbled' By Bio Movie
    By Staff
    May 20, 2007

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is "humbled" Hollywood producers are making a movie based on his life.
The boxer - who became the youngest heavyweight champion when he won the title aged 20 in 1986 - has contributed more than 30 hours of interviews for the project.

Tyson says, "I will, to the best of my abilities, give a truthful account of myself."

The film, titled "Tyson", will be directed by James Toback, who has known the fighter since 1985.

Toback says, "The point is not to polish his image or make a cinematic apology, but rather to get a first-hand look at a very complex and epic story.

"He was honest about all the things that have highlighted his life, from the bitter divorce, the ear-biting, prison, to his becoming a sex addict. He is self-aware, smart and a totally fractured personality, and he made himself completely vulnerable."

Toback adds the film, due out later this year (07), would not "gloss over" incidents such as Tyson's rape conviction or the ear-biting of rival Evander Holyfield in 1997.

This reminds me of the story about Frankenstien, a big super strong monster is just looking for some love, and when he doesn't get it he literally beats them to death. Except in our pugulistic movie our guy gets to beat everyone to a pulp and gets away with all the love. Maybe this has something to do with his words of wisdom, or captivating big muscles (God Look at the size of those veins!)

Maybe our big strong russian vilain came from the same background as the Frankenstein, maybe he showed up on America's doorstep saying "I love America!" only to have love kicked into his face and rejected, swearing to break everyone that hasn't loved him, only to be broken down by the love that he has lost touch with. And as for punishment our american born hero steals big russian monster's wife, and marries her in real life.

I'm from the US so I haven't heard of Peter Kay, but I think that Blair would make a nice Donkey, it shows strong symbolism and many people will be able to relate to the complaining over demanding donkey that is ever present in our lives.

A George Foreman biopic would be great: poverty, being teased for not knowing who his father was, the US government helped him get out of the streets, began boxing and after only a year won a gold medal, had a horrible attitude then was changed into a very likeable guy......lots of stuff to do a movie about.
