Oh, I thought you were talking about Ike Quartey. I wasn't aware of Ibeabuchi until after he went to prison, but apparently he kidnapped some kid and got in trouble then raped a woman and went to prison (I might have the order reversed). But he was up for parole in '06, I believe and was denied. Apparently he has some pretty warped ideas on women (something to the effect that they were on earth to serve him). I read somewhere that he's now nuttier than a fruitcake and even if he did get out he wouldn't be much in boxing.

ok how about one of you awesome mods merge this thread with one of the quadzillion other "Where's Ike Ibeabuchi" threads

He's done some very bad things and doesn't deserve parole today, tomorrow, next week, next year, or EVER if I had my way.

The whole lunatic thing got to him after awhile. Its interesting to think what he could have done but he was bound to lose it at some point, he wasn't like kind of crazy he was like scratching his forearms till they bleed because he's trying to get to the probe aliens had implanted in him crazy.

He was good though, never know how good obviously.

Agreed Mate...The whole Family is nuts...I was going to do a jailhouse phone interview with Ike about a year ago when he was petitioning his innocence of being framed for the 1000th time...Had it set up with his family and everything...Then I started getting calls telling me what to say and what not to say in the interview..What question to ask and what not to...Then I was given a list of questions to ask via e-mail...Guess what?.....Every question was geared toward Ike being set up and mis represented by his lawyer etc...

Then after I told his Mother I decided it would not be the best idea and cancelled the interview I was accused of being in on it and it was all a set up to derail Ike's chances at parole.....

...dang you were going to do an interview with him? I had no idea.

Even if he got out 5 years ago he wouldn't be in fighting shape and he wouldn't be boxing, he'd be a Kimbo Slice or a really Old Mike Tyson or a Butterbean some sort of Circus sideshow freak for idiots to gawk at.

Ike weighs at LEAST 280 now a days

Yeah I was sitting around one day mulling over the HW division a couple of days after Toney/Peter 2 and was trying to think of something else in the division worth writing about when I got an e-mail that had been sent out to a bunch of the online boxing sites about IKE and all his prison hoopla..so I figured it would make a good read and contacted the number in the e-mail...all started out well then like I said the whole family went loopy.....IMO would have been a good read if all went well but all in all it was probably for the best it happened before and not after the interview

I agree if Ike did get out he would not have been anything more then a curiosity....In all actuality he was just coming into his own when his career ended...he had yet to be solidified...He beat Tua in an all out War of big men then KO'd Byrd who he outweighed by like 45lbs...But there was alot of guys outh there better then those two at the time..EG Ray Mercer, Holyfield was still near the top, Rahman , Botha, Briggs...all still at their best

I don't blame you Daxx for pulling out of the interview, some things are better left alone.

It's a thread from a new member, better to leave it here so that people can get to know her and help with her question, rather than mix it in with the old threads where it will get lost

    Well let me clarify

Ike Ibeabuchi is in prison where he will remain for the rest of whatever boxing career he could salvage and for good reasons.
