    Default Margarito-Mosley

Surprised there's no thread about this.. at time of posting.

Anyone think Mosley can win? I don't.

If the same Mosley turns up that fought Mayorga last time, then I think he'll definitely be stopped late-ish.. probably by the corner.

    Thoughts?

I don't really think Shane Mosley has much of a chance in this one, i thought he looked half asleep for majority of the Ricardo Mayorga fight. He isn't a pure boxer he doesn't use his footwork much, so i don't think he can outbox Antonio Margarito.

Shane Mosley has always been a boxer/puncher i've seen quite alot of his fights, and as i've said before i've never really seen him outbox a fighter using his technical skills/boxing skills. He normally overwhelms opponents with his speed/power/stamina ETC.

Plus Shane Mosley's output lately has been way low so i think he's gonna find it hard. To keep Antonio Margarito off him and i don't think Shane Mosley, really hits that hard at Welterweight.

I think Shane Mosley might get a bit of pasting in this one, i think he will survive 12 rounds because he's a warrior and tough as nails. But overall i see him just getting outworked and losing a UD, he may have some success counter punching like he did at times with Ricardo Mayorga.

But lets be honest if someone as limited as Ricardo Mayorga was able to close the distance. And give Shane Mosley a tough fight, it doesn't bode well for his next fight against someone tougher, and even more physical than Ricardo Mayorga, with a higher output and a better array of punches.

Margarito is going to box to a UD, it will be a good fight I think. Mosley will know that he wont be able to get away with anything sloppy and he knows that he will have to box and use his speed to have any chance of beating him.

That is the key there, even if Shane toughs it out til the end no way does it look like he's doing more in the judges eyes. I wouldn't be suprised if Margarito averages four times as many landed and thrown punches per round over Mosley.

Picking Tony most likely by unam descision.Ready to LMAO?.....I think Mosley catches Margarito early on and makes him do a stumble dance before Tony revs up & grinds Mosley down on his heels as Shane plays macho on the inside with him .

Dud I totally agree with you.
Never count Shane Mosley out, or any fighter for that matter, I think Mosley could make Tony stumble dance in the early rounds, but Tony wins stoppage. TKO

I can't see Shane getting through this fight without taking quite a bit of punishment. He won't move enough or throw enough punches to keep Margo off him but I doubt he will get stopped, Shane is a tough nut.

It's hard to make a case for Mosley. He's got a divorce brewing too and legal problems due to the BALCO steroids thing hanging over him. I don't see him coming close to stopping or outworking Margarito but I see him having enough boxing ability to make it to the end of the fight. Margarito UD in an entertaining fight.

I give Mosley a chance to win here... slim one but a chance all the same!

I truely believe Margarito will put the hurt on late but Mosley will see the end. But my heart will be with a Sugar Shane victory!!!

I did not know Shane was getting divorced.

I thought he had a solid marrage.Remember somthing about him and family in The Ring a few years ago and they seemed very happy'

So where are those people who insist on saying SSM can't box...
Those who insist on saying SSM has no power...
    SSM has no footwork...

I keep reading those comments time and time again. I read them sometime ago and I keep reading them everytime SSM fights.
I personally have always felt SSM got power hes always shown it.
I also feel he's a good boxer, he might not be a technician in the ring but this performance clearly shows that with experience you can do it.

He boxed brilliant, his shots were vicious and he used great footwork.
    Using up the entire ring.

    Margarito,
Echele ganas cabron y no se desanime.
Pa' delante y con la cabeza en alto porque no tienes nada de que avergonzar. SSM fue mejor que tu esa noche asi como tu lo fuistes contra Cotto.

I'm with you on this one.

You can NEVER count on old Lion out like SSM.
The guy has taken good care of himself and he's always in shape to fight
    (Please don't give me the .2 lb talk OK it's .2 not 20.00 )

I think fighters like him always have a chance because they've seen it all.
Lost to Vernon cameback and won, lost to Winkus cameback and won.

    Fucken Shane man...
I sware I got love for Margarito but when you see a performance like that from an ATG you just can't help it but smile.
He fought the perfect fight and just made the fight go his way from round 1 'til the end. Without ever losing sight of the task that was at hand.

Let's hear it one time for the Old Lion "SSM"...

Shane is certainly the man of the hour...Really what can you say but good for him...He came back when all practically wrote him off...

VD called it last night when he said don't be surprisewd if we see a Hopkins like performance.....

Too Bad Danny G can't be as good a sport about it like everyone else including Margarito fans..

Instead he makes up threads about Cotto being cheated...then a fake screen name to go along with everything he said...the sends me things in my PM, Profile and rep comments about being a bitch...Callling me a C***...talking about Lewis being a B**** and other things...

Ruins the sport and the want to post
