Default Hopkins Jones 2 in the works

According to a new interview with bernard hopkins on boxingtalk.com hopkins vs jones 2 is closer to being done than ever before with a 55- 45 split in hopkins favour i believe. I wouldve loved to see this around 2002-03 but i still think its an exciting matchup today. I think bernard takes this one if the the fight gets made.

It's a fight that is past it's sell by date, but it does have a lot of the curiosity factor about it. I would love to see Jones Jr. get the win. It would be very funny.

They have been saying this for a decade. And watch out, boxingtalk is the king of posting baseless rumors.

Ya, if there were ever a "I'll believe it when I see it" fight, this is the one.

This fight would of been great 10 years ago, but now it's too late. Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins are two of my favorite fighters, but sadly Roy has seen better days. Bernard thanks to his master defense counter punching style has been able to stay on top despite his age. While Roy has trouble now that his speed is not as freakish as it once was and his power gone. He however does possess some RJJ(unique style) boxing skills that still keeps him competitive against some good fighters. But against an elite fighter against Hopkins he will get over-match. Roy time to hang them up, you have done everything there can be done from middle to heavyweight and their will never be another Roy Jones like you.....B-Hop keep kicking ass... amazes me how he still still p4p at his age. I picked him against Tarver, and Pavlik .

Same thing. I would have liked to have seen this a few years back. But what the hell why not do it now. They should both be paid very well if they did fight.

Roy definately wants the fight more than Hop. I dont know why because Hopkins is one of Roys biggest wins on paper. Beating him again, doesnt really enhance his legacy much. Losing to him would hurt it a bit imo. He as more to lose. Hopkins no doubt would rather fight Roy than Dawson, but he wants to get paid more. This is a hight risk fight for him too, though I dont think he has as much to lose as Roy. I think they both would gain more in the long term by staying away from each other and doing their own thing. I do think Roy Beats him in a rematch though. Hopkins never fough anyone as strong as Roy, who would be the first true Light heavy he fought since Tarver.
