    Wink Double wrap?

I was wondering if it is a bad idea to use two 180 wraps. I've been hurting my left hand when I throw a hook. "landing on the ring finger & pinky which is wrong I know" It kind of happens in the heat of the moment of doing mitts or working on the heavy bag. I use 14oz gloves with 1 180" Mexican wrap. I was thinking of wearing a 180" cotton wrap under my Mexican wrap for better knuckle protection. I just tested wearing both and I could fit my hand in my glove. I am simply looking for more protecting for my knuckles in case I throw a bad shot. I'm going to give my left hand a couple of weeks rest to heal since it hurts when I hit with it atm.

I wrap the wrist 2-3 times wrap the thumb then go through each finger wrap the knuckles 3-4 times "top of knuckle under knuckle "palm" then back over knuckle" wrap the thumb the other way then continue to criss-cross the rest of the wrap till it is done. The pain is not on the top of the knuckles but in the palm where the knuckle is. "Strange right"

Can you recommend a different way? Preferably a video to display. I have no problem altering the way I wrap my hands for more protection of my knuckles.

I agree with Scrap, you don't want too much bandage going over your palms.

I use the long, stretchy hand-wraps myself, but what I do differently is instead of wrapping around my palms, I fold it back and forth over my knuckles. This is held in place with a piece of bandage tape (i.e. the kind that is found in hospitals). To further secure it, I then wrap in between the fingers without putting excess bandage over my palms. Wrapping in between the fingers is more about securing the pad that rests over my knuckles so that it can not move around.

On a separate note, if you find that the wraps are coming loose around your wrists, wrap it a little lower. I have small wrists so I find that I have to go a couple of inches down the forearm so that it will stay.

Also when your hands are gloved up, you should curl your fingers around the padded bar of the glove instead of pressing them flat against your palm.

What it all comes down to is protecting your hands while allowing you to make a fist. Being able to make a good fist is perhaps the best protection against hand injuries next to throwing your punches properly.
If you hear a voice within you saying that I am not a painter, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.
