    Default Double Standards

How come when PBF fights a smaller guy everybody downs him for it. Yet nobody is downing Cotto for fighting PAC. last time i checked PAC was not a natural 147 pound fighter.

I get sick of people talking this shit about PBF fighting smaller guys. The man started at 130 and has moved up in weight. So at some point PBF was the smaller guy in the ring. People act like he'd fought little guys his whole career. It's not even like he fought a bum little guy. He fought JMM who was considered by many to be atleast top 5 P4P. People act like he started his carear at 154. I remember before the Gatti fight(RIP) everyone was talking that shit about PBF wasn't going to be able to stand up to a true 140 pounder. Now all of a sudden PBF is a natural junior Middle weight. Before he fought Castilo DLH and Hatton people said that PBF was too small and or wouldn't be able to handle the pressure these fighters would put on him. Now all of a sudden people act like PBF is some gaint fighting midgets.

Also how come a fighter is good until PBF beats them. Soon as PBF beat a guy people say the fighter is shot. Wasn't noboby saying JMM was shot before he got beat by PBF

The funniest part of the whole situation is people say PBF should fight a natural welter weight like cotto or PAC. When the fuck did PAC become natural welter weight? Now when PBF beats PAC then the haters will say that PBF beat another little guy.

If your gonna hate on a guy atleast be consitant.

b/c it's obvious pac carries the weight extremely well.

pac looked fantastic against ODLH and hatton.

Well #1 Cotto will at least TRY to make the catch weight unlike Floyd #2 Pacquiao is more than likely going to be the favorite #3 Pacquiao has proven himself to be able to carry at least 140 with devistating KO power whereas JMM had proven he could gut out a win at 135 vs lackluster competition.

Because it's Mayweather and fans these days treat the sport like it's American Idol and base their decisions on hating or liking a fighter based on how his "personality" is.

No matter who Mayweather fights, he's going to be leaps and bounds ahead of them in terms of skill. So no matter what, they'll find a reason to discredit the win. He's too big, then he's too fast, etc.

We just got to accept that no matter what he does, he'll be discredited by those who hate them. Haters are going to hate no matter what. It's no problem to me. I just laugh and watch him make their favorite fighters look stupid.

Mayweather is talented as hell....I just wish he'd test himself vs other fighters the way guys like Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns, Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong et al did....those guys sought out the best and tried to prove themselves vs the very best and sometimes they were at a disadvantage and sometimes they lost or got dodgey decisions, but they tested themselves and they strived to prove to themselves and most importantly to the boxing fans that they were the best.

Floyd just bullied a great Featherweight, that is all

That is my beef with him, that's all it comes down to! That's why he will never be a great fighter in my eyes, he has never done great things or tested himself. He was with HBO getting his arse kissed for so many years that people seem to believe it all.

I don't rate Diaz and Casamayor is getting older 37 when JMM fought him. Casa is definently the better of the two though and neither was proven at 140 much less 147 where Floyd decided to move the fight after not making weight

I guess you can't rate Diaz because then you wouldn't be able to make your.

To your first point, Cotto has fought pretty much every other top welterweight in the division: Shane, Margarito, Clottey, Quintana etc. He gets a pass if he wants to fight the p4p #2 fighter in the world for a lot of money and he happens to be smaller.

PBF had a great career before he began fighting above 140, anyone who disputes that is wrong. Since he has fought above 140, it hasn't been exceptional. Shane, Cotto, and Margarito have done more at welterweight than Floyd has in the same amount of time.

It's not like the criticism on Floyd is new. There has been the same criticism since before the DLF fight.

PBF is great, of course. Hopefully, he challenges himself and fights Cotto, Mosley, and Pwill. No one will say jack.

This. I respect Cotto for at least getting in the ring with Shane, Margarito, etc, while PBF has been ducking them.
