Default "March 13 or Bust"- Bob Arum

Pacquiao-Mayweather: March 13 or Bust Says Bob Arum - Boxing News

Arum said "you can make an argument that because he is running for office Manny can't fight on May 1st but you can't logically with a straight face make an argument for March 13"

WOW! Even Arum saying there is no excuse for Pacquiao not to take the fight in March. This isn't looking good for Pacquiao right now.

"That's why Mayweather has been reluctant to do this fight."
    -Arum

Don't get that statement, Mayweather is already signed right? Arum is in Manila trying to get Pac on-board right?

^Yup. Mayweather's name is already on the contract. He's on board. Arum just needs to belittle Floyd somehow. Now Arum has to convince Pacquiao to fight the guy. How weird is that? The #1 P4P fighter needs convincing to fight.

Mayweather has only agreed to the terms, but hasn't put any signature to paper.

Who would of thought it.. Mayweather being the most negotiable and Pac Man being the one stalling the negotiations. Still plenty of time though.. but I don't see this deal being signed by Jan.

Exactley. Mayweather gave a proposal who knows what the hell it says. A 80/20 split in favor of Mayweather, to fight with ten ounce gloves and a 30 foot ring. Who the hell knows what the terms are. I believe if it is decent Manny will take it.

How is Pacman stalling Mayweather has agreed to the terms and Arum is flying to visit Pacman. Has Manny turned down the fight?

LOL! Awesome. I totally agree. That sounds like Mayweather terms too.

He is a crafty dude, though. He knows that as many people watch his fights to see him loss as to see him win, if not more. He doesn't care whether he's the good guy or the bad guy.

Mayweather's terms are ridiculous most of the time. Hell, he might say he wants the fight at 154 for all we know.

    Default March 13

Well, I think this is the first site saying the date is a go.

Ringside Report "The Heart Of Boxing"

It says nothing about the agreement details besides Maryweather and Pacquiao having both tentatively agreed to the March 13, 2010 date.

this is just one of the many speculations about this fight. there is even a link of mayweather agreeing to the fight and there are also numerous posts here saying that manny is stalling. if its not signed then theres nothing to talk about. i guess all the pacman hate is coming out from well known haters here. mayweather could say he agrees to fight so let the make up the contract and have both of them sign then we could all have a talk in here.

yea that's it, the whole world hates Manny Pacquiao

it's been written in numerous articles that up to now, Mayweather has agreed, the only one in need of convincing is now Manny himself, and it's no secret that Pacquiao is a bit of a diva when it comes to negotiating

do i think that Pacquiao is scared of a fight with Mayweather? no

will it get signed? yes, but who the hell knows when

funny how some Pac fans love mentioning negotiations for a Pac fight when it's going smoothly (Cotto, Diaz, Barrera II, etc.) and all of the possibilities of the fight, but once he's mentioned to be the one stalling (which he is for whatever reason), they cry out for him to be the victim, give me a break

You guys don't get this one!

There is a gag order agreement in place and Neither Pacquiao nor Mayweather teams can leak information about the details of the fight. The only thing coming out of the negotiations is talks about the arrangements with affiliates connected with the fight.

Apparently Pacquiao has some issues with details in the contract and Arum has to go back to Mayweathers team with it. In my first post of this thread they say a "reliable source" is saying the March date is a go, but they have nothing beyond that. Yea it may even be bogus, but it's not the same as the other reports.

“I met with Manny this morning and my next step is to go back to the US to meet with the Mayweather people to finalize the arrangements. That’s as far as I want to go and we have an understanding with the Mayweather people until we finalize everything,”

“You can interpret it the way you like it but you can see a smile on my face that means I am not disappointed,”
