Default Holyfield Vs Botha? What has the HW division come to?

I just can't believe Evander Holyfield will be fighting Frans Botha in Feb for the WBF HW title....The WBF title means zip zero and Nada but fact is if Holyfield wins this fight at 47 he will believe he is back in the HW title mix and we may have to endure him having another embarrassing loss against one of the various second rate contenders out there....

    OR

Worse yet Holyfield Vs Ruiz 4!!!!!!!! Because John for as nice a guy he is also believes he is a major force in the division

Why is Evander still fighting? Why does he have a license?

It wouldn't be the first time an ancient past-it heavyweight got in the ring for money in a less than meaningless fight, would it? And I'm guessing African boxing authorities aren't quite as strict as their first world counterparts. You probably just have to get your manager to fill a form in, or perhaps even just pay somebody some money. Holyfield is short of dough too apparently and he's got 10 000 kids. So with those dynamics his career is not likely to end well, is it?

An all time legend vs a guy who has only ever lost to the best infront of 8ok. It pits two guys and neiother come to run or play it cautiously. Id rather watch this over a Klit fight anyday. Both of them just prod out a jab at some bum with no motivation for afew rounds until they got bored. Holyfields fight is one of the most anticpated heavyweight fight in a while

I wouldn't say it's come to anything on the strength of this fight. Who are Holyfield, Botha or the WBF? It would be different if a legit fighter or legit belt were involved in any of this, but this is the same as me making up my own belt and sanctioning two bums on the corner to duke it out over it. It's meaningless; not even a raindrop in the ocean.

Then you must not believe why David Haye is fighting either. Just one year ago Evander Holyfield showed more stuff in fighting Valuev than David Haye did.

Botha Holyfield is actually a decent scrap. Noone will be running and both guys have good fighting hearts. I would certainly rather watch this fight than suffer through Vitali K fighting Kevin Johnson.

So you would rather watch two guys with diminished skills bash each other's heads in than a competent HW at the top of his game dominate another HW, who, even though mediocre, is still better than Holyfield or Botha at this point in his career in a more-than-likely losing effort?

Kevin Johnson is not better than 46 year old Holyfield. Holyfield actually throws punches back.

    Your overating Vitali sir.

...wow surprise surprise another "Bitch about the Klitschko's" thread how very original and entertaining

This thread is about Holyfield vs Botha and how some jackass thinks that the fight shows poorly on the heavyweight division just because the WBF is giving the winner a belt, which I might add is the title that one AUDLEY HARRISON had.

The heavyweight division is just fine, the only problem is that the contenders in the division are too young and inexperienced to truly challenge the Klitschko's....so tough shit hating on the Klitschko's they are going to beat anyone put infront of them for a long time even including the dude I refuse to mention.

Well, because its boxing. I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. It's sad to see things of this nature. I guess boxing is all Holyfield has in life and desperately wants to cling to the delusion that he can still compete on a competitive level. Given the division is filled with a list of tomato cans and headed by two really boring Ukranians, I can see how a 47 year old man, with early onset dementia, can 'think' he can win a title.

I would hope he wouldn't be sanctioned state-side, but nothing would surprise me in this day and age.

I think this might actually be entertaining. I mean it was not that long ago that EH gave that big Sasquatch a helluva fight and should have won. I'm going with EH by ko. And don't get me wrong I really hope he calls it a career very soon.
