Default How long does it take for the average wimpy guy to build muscles?

I mean, how many workouts roughly?

I'm currently training 4 times a week. (This is my sixth week) Two whole body workouts with just 2 sets of about 8 exercises along with two dedicated cardio days, rowing and cycling.

My next goal is to add a long ( 1 hour) walk once a week just to get a few more calories burned and do some exercise outdoors for a change.

I'm not ready to go into split workouts with multiple sets and reps, and I'll never be able to train like you young fit guys.

But I'd like to lose about 10 lbs of fat and replace with 10 lbs of muscle. If I was dedicated, trained regularly and ate well, what's a realistic timeframe for that?

A year, do it gradually or you'll do yourself a mischief.

I'll help you out tomorrow with a plan. AdamGB would be worth asking aswell. I think he's a personal trainer. I've studied Sports Nutrition so i can put together some form of nutritonal plan. I'm a little busy tonight but i'll sort it for you tomorrow.

Cheers man, I've got a ton of books and training manuals, but what I lack, like every man, is motivation.

Hopefully if I commit to it publicly on here it will motivate me to get back into it again.

I'm feeling much better already and can only imagine how fit someone must feel if they have made it a lifestyle for several years.

Bilbo if you want to repair your lungs go and do Chi gung.
Its an advanced tai chi exercise system that drives life force chi energy through the areas you are working on.

Bilbo. Are you working? All you seem to be doing lately is working out, fucking fatties and shopping.
