I think Ward will likely outbox Froch and headbutt and clinch his way to a UD. However, over the course of the Super Six Carl Froch has shown that he can compete with and defeat the best Super Middleweights in the world (I STILL think he beat Kessler) and I wouldn't be all that surprised to see him pull of the upset.

He's going to stop Johnson too IMO.

But how will froch pull it of? His jab is awesome and better than wards but ward is nimble?

Ward has the much better jab IMO, but Froch's determination, power, and chin have seen him beat skilled boxers before and might allow him to pressure Ward, tire him out, and hurt him.

IMO It's hard to picture the fight but ward is similar to dirrell but lacks the reach dirrell had and I thought froch had a better jab than dirrell. Well I thought Kessler was a pressure fighter and look what ward did to him!!

Froch has no chance IMO. Ward's speed and defense will own Froch. Froch will be beat to the punch and pot shotted all night. The super six tourney is a complete joke anyway, not even interested in these fights anymore.

You're not much of a boxing fan if you're not interested in watching the best fighters in a division compete against one another. The Super 6 has had plenty of problems, which is understandable for such an ambitious undertaking, but I'm still very interested in the final fights.

Yeah the tournament has not run smoothly but we are still getting most of the top guys in the division fighting each other one way or the other. I haven't seen all the fights but have listened on the radio or read the reports and i think it's good. Most of the fights arr 50/50ish or there abouts and that can only be good. Had some very close fights and some controversial moments. Plenty of drama and more to come. Froch v johnson could be anything from a quick stoppage to a long drawn out close war.

Even with fighters dropping out i think it has been good for the sport. Last man standing, if it's close rematch if not take on Bute and there we have the genuine no.1 in the division. Fuck the belts

    Ugh. What a fool.

For all the garbage people want to talk about Froch, he consistantly is able to land up-jabs on top 10 SMWs. He is deceptive with speed and has sneaky power... He throws from odd angles, in unorthodox and besides bad foot placement he's an all around solid fighter that is in the top 3 SMWs in the word. Ward would have his hands full with Froch as would ANYONE in the div. Styles make fights and if Froch can cut off the ring effectively and take short steps back when Ward comes in to hold/headbut, he could score an enormous upset.

As far as the supersix being "a joke"... It's a great idea to breath life into a rather floundering sport and any ideas are welcome.

How is pitting the best of a div against eachother (or at least most of the top guys) a bad idea?

Step your game up because your lack luster decription on why you find a ground breaking tourny "a joke" is, in fact, a joke.

Go play badminton or something. Leave the combat sports to the people that understand them. You, clearly, don't.

    Cheers

First off, while I agree that it's stupid to say the super six isn't interesting anymore, but you shouldn't criticize other peoples knowledge of the sport when you also don't have a great knowledge of what's going in there. You can't just take a step back and counter ward coming in, people have been saying to do that against Hopkins and nobody has been able to do that. This is because they don't just try to get in and hold. They control the space and they maintain the pressure on their opponent. It's why they have such great range because they lead with their feet and not their hands. They don't just fall in like ruiz. If froch tries to step back he's just giving ward room to follow the jab with a cross. This fight will be similar to mayweather mosley because one guy is better coordinate with a more solid base and the other is stronger also athletic but often off balance and has a poor base

If its in Oakland Froch has little to no chance so he will have to go for a KO which will play into Wards hands.

Froch went up in my estimation in his last fight. I knew he was tough but I didnt know he had those skills to totally outclass a world class fighter like Abraham. Ward went down in my estimation. Nobody looks good vs Bika but Ward had everything in his favour yet again but still couldnt showcase himself. After 6 rounds it was still anybodies fight but the decision was never in question.

Stylistically Froch matches up well against Ward. He wont have to go looking for him like he did against Dirrell because Ward needs to get close to land those headbutts and he also likes to wrestle and impose his strength. I cant see him beating Froch at that game who gave as good as he got vs Pascal. Ward might have to switch styles when he realises he cant rough Froch up and will revert to backfoot boxing. Carl isnt as adaptable and will press the action making it look like Wards outboxing him. After a close 12 rounds, Ward wins a landslide decision.

Kessler is much more of a boxer-puncher than a pressure fighter, though to be fair Froch showed that he could box pretty well in his last fight.
