    Default Starting Boxing

Hi im thinking of starting boxing there is a gym in my local area. However i have some nooby questions to ask :P

1- Will i get the shit beaten out of me as im slightly worried about a broken nose but i think i will be able to put up with it (although they are nothing alike i got my front 2 teeth kicked out playing rugby). Will my face be mashed up and ugly XD how much does a broken nose hurt btw?

2- Do i have to compete in tournaments? and what is competing like for example what are the benefits

3- will the training get results as i am looking to gain some lean muscle mass, lose weight and gain confidence and toughen up.

These are normal concerns everyone has before starting boxing. You won't be forced to do anything you don't want, unless you are somehow devoid of the ability to say "no".

When/if you get ready enough to compete in tournaments, you'll understand the benefits. As in, most of them have been in the journey.

3- will the training get results as i am looking to gain some lean muscle mass, lose weight and gain confidence and toughen up.

Sure. If you stick it out.
Answered in bold. the most important thing you need to do when it comes to boxing, is to get your ass through the doors. From there you get back what you give. Your questions and concerns are valid though.

All the answers you're looking for have been mentioned in that post. Couldn't have answered better myself.
