Happily started sprint/interval training.
Bad news I've now bruised the base of my big toe. Any suggestions on the best treatment so my mail doesn't fall off?
I usually use arnica for bruising. What else you got?

I run between 20-30km per week sometimes, between 7 and 10.5km at a time, and I'm ALWAYS getting black toe-nail. It's gotten better lately because my new shoes fit better than my old ones, but I haven't found a way to get rid of it completely.
I think one of my main problems is that my index toe (if that's the right term) is longer than my big toe.
Hi -- I found i used to get this when my big toe nail was longer than my big toe .. ie the shoe pushed on the big toe. My second toe is also longer than my big toe. I does seem shoe dependant, but cutting the nail back almost always solved the issue - Good luck![]()
Thanks -- I was just made aware of it, I am just getting back into boxing after a decade of inaction and injury. I heard this place was full of genuine people looking to help each other and thats what I am aboutThe other thing I was going to suggest is having a look at your running style, are you a tip-toe runner? Do you feel your foot 'sliding forward' in the shoe as would happen running down a hill and putting the brakes on so to speak? I can't talk, I'm not a great runner, but I find a more heel accentuated landing rolling to the toes seems to 'balance' the strain / pressure ..
Again good luck and THANKS FOR THE WELCOME![]()
