Hi -- I found i used to get this when my big toe nail was longer than my big toe .. ie the shoe pushed on the big toe. My second toe is also longer than my big toe. I does seem shoe dependant, but cutting the nail back almost always solved the issue - Good luck

I keep my nails pretty trimmed, but I do sometimes forget. I'll give it shot.

    Welcome to the forum BTW.

Thanks -- I was just made aware of it, I am just getting back into boxing after a decade of inaction and injury. I heard this place was full of genuine people looking to help each other and thats what I am about The other thing I was going to suggest is having a look at your running style, are you a tip-toe runner? Do you feel your foot 'sliding forward' in the shoe as would happen running down a hill and putting the brakes on so to speak? I can't talk, I'm not a great runner, but I find a more heel accentuated landing rolling to the toes seems to 'balance' the strain / pressure ..

Again good luck and THANKS FOR THE WELCOME

I think I have decent, if not great, form when I run. I' attended a seminar on proper running technique which was hosted by one of the best long distance runners in Canada and that improved my form exponentially. That being said, I find my form tends to fall apart once I start to get really tired.

^^ So you likely know a GREAT deal more than me; however my last input is that over long distance i tend to 'shuffle' rather than heel-toe action, which I *think* makes the toes push into the front of the shoe... LOL .. Could be anything I guess, but you shouldn't have to suffer with that...

I don't know much at all, just the very basics about proper form and how not to hurt myself. I just run for exercise and for fun. My times are shit, but I find it challenges me in a very unique way.

Missy pay attention , keep the toenails trimmed, wear good shoes that fit, after every run wash them in surgical spirits, then talcam powder the feet. Also before running put Olbas oil on the feet stops inflamation . A lot of the problems could be the position of your Head giving bad posture and foot plant and Gait not being correct, sort it
Pain lasts a only a minute, but the memory will last forever....
