Default Poll: Is a Floyd-Ortiz Rematch Warranted/Worth it?

I think it is warranted AND worth it, but it should be done in 3 months time, no later than mid-January 2012. Floyd immediately offered it and i can't think of ANY REASON UNDER THE SUN that Ortiz wouldn't take him up on it.

After careful reflection, Floyd was a jerk, though a LEGAL jerk undeniably. The 1st hook spun Ortiz's head towards Cortez, and Mayweather could have given Ortiz the chance to regroup, BUT THE 2ND PUNCH WAS ENTIRELY UNNECESSARY, not to mention heartless, as it was thrown at a man who wasn't even looking.

No. I dont need to se a one sided fight. Its a mismatch. Ortiz was getting technically shut out and he was on his way to a mid round ko loss. this kis is a punk, bitch made... So embarrasssing.lol

Btw floyd did nothing wrong. Does je have bad sportsmanchip? Yes.. But what he did was perfectly legal so the joke is on ortiz for getting dirty and breaking basic rule of boxing which is to protect yourself at all times. This fuckin ortiz ortiz deserved it.. Such

Agreed. Also I think it would please Floyd as he clearly doesn't want to fight Manny, after hearing his post match press conference - obvious i know, but the more time that passes the more unlikely that fight is. Looks like the boxing public will be denied the fight we all want to see.

I would also watch just because.

IMO, Ortiz heart left the fight, once he was deducted a point for that pointless headbutt. Although he didn't see that laser coming, Floyd is not a one punch KO artist. Berto and M&M hit Ortiz much harder then that punch that Mayweather landed on his neck. NOT SOLID ON HIS CHIN!!! Nonetheless he went down. But I do think he could have got back up if he really wanted to continue to fight. Trying to get a DQ was the only way he was going to win.

The question is, will Ortiz take the fight? NOPE!!! He said he we be champion again in 6 months. He know his next fight will be against Berto or he will go back down to fight Morales for his title. Hell, he might go up and fight Alvarez. He came in the fight at 164!!!

Would b completely pointless! Ortiz does not deserve another big pay day.I wouldn't pay for it again. It's a total mismatch!

There was like 3 or 4 maybe 5 real good punches at most landed in that fight. They were all by Floyd, but to say Ortiz was out classed that bad and Floyd was that far ahead in the fight is crazy. Did you see the defense by both fighters? It was tight and near perfect by both. This was about to be not a good but a great fight. Ortiz hadnt even started to bring it yet. He was pickn his shots very nicely. Hate to see ortiz go out like that but on the other hand I hate to blame Floyd for having a fighters killer instinct. The ONLY solution is a rematch after the Pac fight.

Now I'm starting to agree with you. Floyd has to fight Pac first before he fights anyone else. But, now more than ever, he has an excuse not to fight Pacquiao. I wish the Mayweather-Ortiz fight did not do well so that there is no motivation for them to have the rematch ahead of a Pacquiao fight.

Ortiz had perfect defense? Did you not see him eating lead rights for 4 rounds straight?

I seen Floyd land about 4 or 5 decent straight rights maybe 2 or 3 of them nice and solid. The rest werent clean shots. Sounds like to many people were listening to the fake ass announcers. Watch the figth on mute.
