Michael Dokes, Former Champ, Passes Away at 54 - Boxing News
Seems he had his demons to say the least, but its always sad when a former heavyweight champ passes.
I believe I've only ever watched his fight with Holyfield. I'm sure many posters here have fond memories of his fights.

Shocker. He had fast hands and good talent but 80's heavies loved their drugs. His fight with Holyfield was quality. RIP.

Just Googled Dokes and it brought back some memories, specifically the Coetzee vs Dokes fight. His whole career was sketchy, great for a few fights and then not so good. Happened with a good few of the heavyweights of his era....the lost generation of heavyweights really.
