Default Nonito Donaire vs. Jorge Arce Saturday night fight/chat thread

I imagine HBO will show the replay of Pac-JMM IV as well. Apparently Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym was canceled, because Poon failed a blood test.

I see we're back in my home-state of Texas again, yeehaw! (don't blame me )

    Dec. 15
At Houston (HBO): Nonito Donaire vs. Jorge Arce, 12 rounds, for Donaire's WBO junior featherweight title.

As far as the fights: I believe Donaire will bust up and flatten Arce within 6 rounds (TKO), but while it lasts "The Lollypop Cowboy" will make a fight of it.

    Who ya got?

As for Rigon vs. Poonstwat, I'll take a wild fucking guess say Rigon by 8th round KO.

    Who ya got?

Agree with your calls. Mid-late stoppage for Rigo and Donaire. The Rigo-Poon fight is a more compelling match-up. Poon is a bit of a wild card.

He can punch at bit, so he could make it a interesting for Rigondeaux, and Donaire to win in about
    6 rounds.

Rigo-Poon is a bit of inspired matchmaking so I'm looking forward to that one. Arce will take a heavy beating this weekend. I think a guy with Arce's style will be in serious trouble against a calculated puncher like Donaire. Tailor made.

I think the main event is appalling and so won't bother with boxing this weekend. Donaire sends me to sleep anyway. It takes something special to keep me away from boxing and Donaire is that. Yawn.

I totally agree, plus Arce is easy to hit, his defense is his offense. Jorge is one of my favorite fighters but his ass is grass Saturday.

Same as you. I'm thinking about picking Molina to upset Khan just because it might be the funniest thing ever if it happened. Can't remember seeing him fight though. He's moving up in weight and doesn't have much pop so I'm guessing he's been carefully picked to make Khan look good.

I love watching Khan get his ass kicked, War Molina!

Pretty good card on Showtime Saturday:
At Los Angeles (Showtime): Amir Khan vs. Carlos Molina, 12 rounds, junior welterweights; Deontay Wilder vs. Kelvin Price, 10 rounds, heavyweights; Alfredo Angulo vs. Jorge Silva, 10 rounds, junior middleweights; Shawn Porter vs. Julio Diaz, 10 rounds, welterweights.

    and also Saturday:
At Los Angeles (CBS): Leo Santa Cruz vs. Alberto Guevara, 12 rounds, for Santa Cruz's IBF bantamweight title.

Tons of fights for us fans Saturday, I may have to re-stock my beer section.

Donaire's been bother all week about Pac losing. He claims he is not out to avenge pac against the Mexican Arce, I don't believe it though.

Poon is a step up for Rigo IMO and I am picking Poon.

The "Rigo Cult" alleges Rigo is the next big thing. If Rigo wins big on Saturday against Poon, is it his coming out party? [That last sentence has a few too many double entrendres].

I used to be one of those cult members. Back when he first came on the scene and they were going to fast track him to the top because of his age and 400 amateur fights.

Maybe that's the issue. They cant get him out of amateur mode.

I'm re-watching the ko by Danny Garcia to cheer me up

I enjoyed Amir's fight with Garcia even more then I did the one with Prescott, mainly because the beating lasted much longer.
Carlos Molina will not be as easy fight for Khan, but he should prevail. (I hope not, hehe)
