Knockout victims to light punchers

Getting knocked in a professional boxing match must be bad enough. But how about those fighters that get knocked out by lightly regarded punchers? Do these types of losses affect the psyche even more than getting knocked out by a known puncher? I looked at some video of one of Ivan Calderon's title defenses back in 2005, against Noel Tunacao. Even though it wasn't a one-punch knockout, it was a stoppage nonetheless. One of only 6 knockout victories in a career of 39 fights.

I'm sure it's gotta be embarrassing to lose by knockout to someone who rarely knocks out anybody. Are there other well-known examples of this? And even more rare.... are there any documented cases of a one-punch knockout by a lightly regarded puncher? I imagine these would be "perfect storm" type of knockouts. A perfect punch thrown at precisely the right time and catching the opponent perfectly.

This was the one I was gunna say. It sticks in the mind because it could not have happened to anyone better than Mundine, the guy is a dick.

I remember Sergio Mora stopping this guy with a few decent looking knockdowns. I can't remember his name though. I found the video though.

Yes. Ottke recorded only 6 knockouts in his undefeated record of 34 fights.
And yet Mundine was counted out while flat on his back.
Not to mention the above mentioned pre-fight comments by Mundine.

This is probably the best example of a one-punch KO by a light-hitting fighter.

Ward vs Dawson. I know Dawson wasn't laid out on his back, but i'm sure he had to be thinking "how the hell did he drop me twice". Especially since Ward hasn't KO anybody in forever.

The old saying that anybody can be knocked out.

I cant imagine what it must have been like to be totally humiliated and frustrated by Locche and then get knocked out. I think he only had 4 ko’s in total and 10 tko’s.

And Howard Davis could not crack an egg yolk. It had to be tough on Usai who was 43 and 5 going up against a 9 and 0 Davis and ending up laid out.

It's been said a million times. It's the one you don't see that knocks you out. So I guess it could happen to anyone, except Marciano, of course.
