Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum but I had this argument with a friend. I'd be really interested to hear what the majority think. For the record, I'm going with Garcia big time.

Welcome
Interesting match-up. I'd roll with Broner.
id go with garcia but then again I am not big on broner and would pick a few people over him
I see Garcia taking this. I don't think Broner has fought anyone of Garcia's caliber. I think a lot of the Broner hype is manufactured. My respect for him would increase if he does fight Garcia. I have made a personal promise to myself not to ppv Broner but it would be an interesting match up. See where Broners really at.
No question Broner is the better athlete...but his defense is overrated and one has to question his discipline outside the ring. Garcia is a smart fighter who has has great pop...and he always seems to get the job done. I think this would be a great fight. I would give the edge to Garcia because he has fought better competition and we have yet to see Broner go up against a truly A class fighter. Hope this fights gets made.
I would go with Garcia right now because he is pretty much veteran proven. Broner still has question marks at this elite level. At 140 or 147 can he handle the power, does his power translate, does he have stamina issues if pressed, and people have said in the amateurs when pushed to the next level he wilts. Visually, Broner does look like a "problem" but Garcia is so proven its pretty much hard to justify picking against him with anybody short of Mayweather.
Garcia..... and welcome to the forum.
Before Matthysse vs Garcia I would have picked Broner, now I'm saying it would be a toss up.
There is no denying Broner's talents, but Garcia's speed--hand and feet--his combos, and his recently displayed solid chin make me think it's even up.
Broner's antics and attitude outside the ring can raise my blood pressure at times, but it would be such a great fight I would not be able to resist a PPV fight.
As talented as Broner is, I think the real draw in this fight would be Garcia, if they could agree on weight.
Garcia would beat him senseless. Broner is a bit shit.
I don't think the Broner tip-toeing through division sits well with odds makers. He fought Gavin Reese, and before that the line up was a list of either blown up wannabes or guys on the downside of their career.
He then moved up to fight Paulie, a feather fisted Paulie at that, and he thinks that says something?!!?
There are sooooo many options between 130 and 147. REAL options.
Broner going up to fight Paulie is like when Roy Jones Jr. went up to HW to fight John Ruiz.

Although I agree they both picked what was deemed as the easiest title route the two are quite different. Ruiz was a legitimate KO/TKO threat to Roy. Paulie HAD to be the one weary of the KO/TKO. Broner is by far the stronger guy and maybe even bigger. Paulie has no physical advantages over Broner to speak of. Ruiz had significant advantages in height, size, and strength.

He's only had one fight at 140 against a non puncher in paulie so a better assessment could be made after the maidana fight.
Right now id say garcia
