Before Matthysse vs Garcia I would have picked Broner, now I'm saying it would be a toss up.
There is no denying Broner's talents, but Garcia's speed--hand and feet--his combos, and his recently displayed solid chin make me think it's even up.
Broner's antics and attitude outside the ring can raise my blood pressure at times, but it would be such a great fight I would not be able to resist a PPV fight.
As talented as Broner is, I think the real draw in this fight would be Garcia, if they could agree on weight.

Garcia would beat him senseless. Broner is a bit shit.

That was an impressive display but the trouble is Lucas fights nothing like Broner. Like most I thought Lucas would catch up to Danny. Apparently so did he cause he chased him all night.

Those are really good points. I think Broner is faster and slicker but he has issues with movement and that was obvious with both Rees and Paulie. I dont think Garcia moves as fast those two and in the same manner but if he gets him out of the wide stance and moving to either side Broner could be in trouble.

Same. He could be mildly retarded. As you say just a great style matchup and a very doable fight promotion wise. Sells itself and having the same promoter does not hurt either. Crazy as it sounds, Broner probably gets the bigger pay cheque.
    Good stuff.

I don't think the Broner tip-toeing through division sits well with odds makers. He fought Gavin Reese, and before that the line up was a list of either blown up wannabes or guys on the downside of their career.

He then moved up to fight Paulie, a feather fisted Paulie at that, and he thinks that says something?!!?

There are sooooo many options between 130 and 147. REAL options.

Broner going up to fight Paulie is like when Roy Jones Jr. went up to HW to fight John Ruiz.

Although I agree they both picked what was deemed as the easiest title route the two are quite different. Ruiz was a legitimate KO/TKO threat to Roy. Paulie HAD to be the one weary of the KO/TKO. Broner is by far the stronger guy and maybe even bigger. Paulie has no physical advantages over Broner to speak of. Ruiz had significant advantages in height, size, and strength.

What Paulie didn't have in physicality to Broner, is what Ruiz didn't have in pure skill compared to Roy Jones. But I get your point.

He's only had one fight at 140 against a non puncher in paulie so a better assessment could be made after the maidana fight.

I go Garcia. His confidence has to be legitimized off Matthysse win. Broner thus far has shown potential and promise more than action and result. He was already unofficial 147 when he blew the weight v Escobedo and looks like he walks around at 170 at the very least so its nothing new to him but its highly unpolished, a short cut. Welcome to the place new guy.
