Default Is froch's chin as good as haglers p4p?

Thoughts? I can't think of anyone with a better set of whiskers than these two around this kind of weight - never ever saw hagler hurt but stunned against hearns and took mugabis best - froch has been down but literally ran head first into groves and Taylor (the punch In the Taylor fight tht really hurt froch not the final knockdown shot)

    Thoughts?

Froch has an excellent chin, not near Hagler's though

Guys like Greb, Monzon, Basilio & LaMotta would rank ahead of Froch

That is a tough one. I dont think the punch Groves landed on Froch would have dropped Marvin or had him wobbly when he got up. Kd's are not always a testimony of ones chin since many kds are a result of getting caught off balance and nothing to do with chin. Hagler was never really hurt bad at anytime in his career. The only time he went down was against Roldan and that was not really a kd even though ruled as such.

To my knowledge Hagler never went down legit and fought some pretty good punchers. But Froch's heart and chin are up there for sure.

We would have found out what haglers chin was really made of if he got punched by Monzon..

He had one Knock down ruled against him, against Juan Roldan it was a slip but the ref ruled it
    a knock down.

hagler has one of the best chins in history. hearns is the only person that it seems like every seemed to hurt him at all. he claims that hearns didnt hurt him but who knows. both times froch has gotten knocked down in his career he looked genuinely hurt. maybe not ready to go, but still definitely stunned. i would more compare his chin to james toney. a great chin but not among the elites.

i personally cant remember ever seeing a chin as good as froches lb4lb

ive seen hagler fight but its difficult to assess it totally because i wasnt really watching his career live

i dont think ive ever seen anyone take as many big punches from a big puncher square in the face and on the chin and survived

he was wobbly on the way back to the dressing room

groves trainer said he needs to get checked out and i agree, that cant have done him any good at all

Tough to call between Eubank and Froch.
Eubanks been on the deck before, Watson and Calzaghe floored him.

Watson knocked him down after over 10 rounds of brutal beating and Joe did it in his last fight when he was old.

If Benn could not dent Eubanks chin no-one can.

Froch has a great beard, but it's also a bit overrated. I've seen him down against Groves and Taylor. I've also seen him staggered a few times in other fights. At the same time, he also has taken monster shots from multiple fighters. Bottom line is that he's got a world class chin, but it's nowhere near all-time level.

Hagler was smart enough to keep his chin tucked most of the time. Watching Froch run in with his chin up plays a big part in him getting clipped. I think froch has a good chin, but posture plays a big part in it. Hang your whiskers out there untethered and you'll get your head snapped around like a bobble head sooner or later.

His chin is excellent.. look at his last fight!!! Recovered to be the stronger fighter as the championship rounds closed in.. just a shame we weren't allowed to see them.

Froch has an undeniable great chin. From supermiddle down, lets be realistic, only Wayne McCullough isn't going down from that right hand.

Jorge Fernando Castro had a fuck of a chin for a middleweight.
