Default Is Calzaghe's chin all that good?

    Who's it been proven against?

Eubank looked very weak and dull in the fight, his punches didn't have their usual power. Reid hurt him, Rob's not a puncher. Mitchell and Salem. Lacy shook him with a right hand and a left hook, and he's not a puncher (accumulation).

Well he hasn't been starched in 43 bouts so it can't be all that bad can it...What is he supposed to do hold a public event and allow Frank Warren to hit him in the mouth with a ball bat to show he has a good chin despite Eubanks was not small and weak.....

I don't know what thread is worse this or the Kessler one.......

Have an SC on me... ..Just for the fact the post has no merit to it what so ever

I'm not a Calzaghe fan, but I don't think he's ever demonstrated a less than sturdy chin.

Well hes never been knocked out so id say he has a pretty good chin. Hes been down but he recovers quickly so that is really what is important.

Lacy's not a puncher? Have you ever seen him fight? As for Calzaghe's chin, it's pretty good, what does land tends to glance because of his movement, but he has been put right on his arse proper, and buzzed a few times. Not as good as say Eubank's but good enough. He has somewhat of an insurance policy there.

I would consider Lacy a "bomb thrower"

Thats much more accurate, but as opposed to being an accumalation type puncher thats just ludicrous. I'd describe Iran Barkley, Nigel Benn or Kostya Tszyu as a real "Puncher". Just beautiful technique, all the way from the toe to the fist.

I'm with Daxx in saying that this is a bit of a non-thread. Calzaghe's succeeded in not getting knocked out whilst beating 7 former champions, and fighters with 484 KOs between them at the time they fought Calzaghe, and an overall KO percentage of 53.9%. That's pretty good figures for most fighters I would think, I might even have a look at those stats for the rest in the top 10 p4p.

He has a good chin but due to the poor division , he hasnt fought a top power puncher in the Nigel Benn - G-MAN - etc mold.
As for Kessler i dont think he hist that hard anyway.

Well said Daxx, I hit the to. How can it be bad? He's never been beaten, let alone KO'ed in 43 fights. The Calzaghe haters are really coming out of the woodworks now aren't they?

Dont you mean lacy hit Calzaghe with a right hand and left hook and then proceeded to (accumulate) over a thousand punches

Then he made a thread about Kessler asking if he is any good?.......

I'm not a massive Calzaghe fan, but after giving him alot of stick for his choice of opponent since Lacy, I give him credit for having the balls to make this fight. It's good for boxing, and I think he sees now how important the fight is.
