Calzaghe was well on his way out, fighting above his weight with wrecked hands, and this was around the only time Dawson was actually looking like an elite fighter.

And Hopkins did? Whoever you thought won that fight, it was razor thin and the old man was certainly effective without throwing much at all. Then watch Hopkins-Dawson for comparison, I just dunno here. It can't be omitted that CAlzaghe couldn't hurt anyone by this point at 175.

I'd back him slightly, he certainly had far more will to win, but 2008 and at 175 are both big advantages to Dawson. Calzaghe had no punch anymore and Dawson was a lot faster and fresher than Hopkins or Roy Jones. I don't think it would have been a good fight or a clear win for either guy, basically.
