Quillen has been mismanaged since he changed promoters and has been used as a pawn for political/business/personal reasons.
Relinquishing his title and not being active has led to him not making weight.
What a prat for wasting his prime years.

Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Havent fighters been stripped of titles if they lose even in a none title bout like this in the past?
If Lee does get to keep the title even if he loses then Quillin has done him a financial favour really because he gets another decent payday to defend against Saunders.
Bigger man George, bigger punch!

Although Andy Lee can't lose the title, I always think that you can't take the result of a fight with a guy who didn't make weight at face value. If Quillin wins, there's always the doubt that he has taken less out of himself by not making the weight than the champ has in order to make the weight. If the champ wins, then the victory is slightly tarnished because the opponent had to take so much off to even try and make weight that he lost a lot of his strength. All in all, not a good build up to the fight.
Very disappointed to hear this. I'm big on kid chocolate, still looking forward to the festivities tonight but no excuse for quill.
I was thinking of renewing my boxnation subscription to record and then watch this tomorrow morning as though live. Now I think I will save my twenty quid for Floyd/Manny.
Quillen stays in the shadows. Maybe that is where he belongs.
I don't think he ducked Korobov but let his strings be pulled by Haymon. But it did not look good at all. Still this growing attitude of "Meh, weight limit whatever" just kills me. I def think guys...groomed and steered would be stars...blow weight just looking at the next showcase opportunity. Its not like they arrive at the scales on 1 days notice ffsQuillin had a year to plan, practice and come in on weight. Guys with "a future" just throw money at the fine knowing the bigger payoff is ahead with a top notch performance. They...managers...can afford it. Its a terrible trend now with guys getting a promotional push.
Honestly if a guy does not make weight, I don't think a win should be factor in rankings at all.
