I think your forgetting how many people fell off (jumped would be more accurate) the Hatton bandwagon due to his snail like progress. If Frank is right and Ricky is on the slide that means that up to his prime Frank Warren delivered him ONE top class fight.

And how many has he had since..?

    Not ONE

Really is a two way street this one mate
I agree with you smash. I don't think Warren did much wrong with Hatton's career at all. He took him along nicely and gave him possibly the p4p no.1 in his own backyard when he was still quite young (26 I think).

The way to look at it is to ask where would Hatton be now if his whole career had been developed by one of the other british promoters (Hobson/hennessey)? You only need to look at Junior Witter's career (a guy of similar potential as Hatton) to see how things could have turned out. I doubt Frank would have thrown Ricky in with the champion in his division when he wasn't ready and on a few days notice, setting his career back 5 years.

    Good point

very good point there. i think warren did a good job with hatton in gettin him the right fights and bringing him along at the right pace. but i also think that for reasons between the two there trust wasn't there and perhaps warran had done all he could for that reason. and since the split i think frank has shown his true colours a bit with slagging off ricky and sueing him and basically being a bit of a wanker. while in all fairness ricky hasnt said anything about frank in return.

All I have to say about Frank Warren and Ricky Hatton's early career is...

    Joe Hutchinson
    Carlos Vilches
    Dennis Holbeck Petersen
    Stephen Smith
    Aldo Rios
    Mike Stewart

ALL meaningless and pointless fights. Compared to these guys Juan Urango and Luis Collazo are a major step up. That is sort of man Frank Warren wanted Ricky to fight.

    lets look at Calzaghe.

    Sakio Bika
    Evans Ashira
    Mger Mrkrkrarstan
    Karaby Salem
    Tocker Pudwill
    Miguel Jiminez

ALL meaningless money-spinners. Calzaghe beat Evans Ashira WITH ONE HAND!!!! ffs thats not on, thats not sporting, first and foremost i am a sportsfan and if there is no sport in a fight I will no watch it. There is no sport in beating on Peter Manfredo Jnr either.

Johnny Nelson? dont get me started....

Lets look at the evidence .

Longelanana Mock or whatever his name is ,had him all over the place and he is a limited super middle . Haye scored a highly dubious stoppage against the late replecement.

Ismael Bin Laden the Belgian another Warrenesque import bought in for the sole Purpose of making Haye Look good , Haye then spins off sopme bullplop about throwing a limited number of punches per round, i'd love to be more specific but i had long since fallen in to the lad of nod.

    Carl Thompson.

Fat Italian who was 74 years old ( fact ) ,again had him jigging round the ring before Haye again got a gift from the ref with another dubious stoppage victory . Not one of the commentry team pointed out the Haye hit his opponent when he was down , blatantly .

The simple shining truth is Haye has beeen well and truly exposed long long long before world class .

Haye's already been knocked out so its not like your saying anything controversial. He WILL get beat again, he's that kind of fighter who takes risks and so its bound to happen, but he's also got a lot of class and incredible power.

Firstly Lolenga Mock knocked him down. Thats it. He didn't "have him all over the place" as you put it, he was getting spanked and he landed a lucky punch on Haye. Haye got up, unruffled, and fucking sparked him with a monster uppercut. Wasn't that Haye's 6th pro fight? Lolenga Mock is fucking hard too, he's a handful for any prospect between super-middle and cruiserweight. Didn't he beat Charles Brewer recenently?

Anyway Ismail Abdoul. Yeah mate selective memory, mention that fight, but you don't mention the 90 second knockout of Alexander Gurov, the destruction of Arthur Williams, Glen Kelly, Lasse Johansson and the other fights where he looked great did ya? Ismail Abdoul was a sparring session. End of.

Witter hasn't got the style, charisma or charm of Hatton.

You could never make him a star.

And by his own admission was struggling financially and happy to get a big payday against Zab.

After the Enzo fallout i wonder whether or not he'd have been better off taking the ITV deal that was offered and jumping ship to the ss Warren?
Gotta get way more exposure on terrestrial tv.

Sorry fella...by that i meant the Haye v Enzo fight 'Fallout/non event'
Just wonder if Haye's future would be better with Warren or not?
Thing is that Maloney Carries more weight in the US of A than Warren imo.
    Purely because of Lennox

thoguth that was what you meant but wasn't 100%

i don't think haye would be better off with warren, if ucking hate warren... if haye wants bell and then to go onto the HW scene warren would prolly make him go after the wbo heavy and shy away from an real danger fight.

No. But if he doesn't perform up to his potential against Castillo, then yes. That doesn't mean he has to beat Castillo, but he has to look like the Hatton of old.
