im soory fellas but i felt this before and i feel it now. Hatton is ducking junior. Junior has and probably always had the styleto beat hatton and hatton and his team know that. I dont care about all that bs about witter direspected him and thats why he wont fight. BS. And i dont wanna hear tha big name crap. Honestly, Hatton has a bit of a dilemma on his hands. He's too small to fight with any of the other elite welterweights and with his "Ricky Fatton" lifestyle he WON'T be able to make 140 in top condition that much longer and he'll start becoming weight drained more often. If I were him, I'd take the money with a huge ODLH fight in the UK in which whether he wins or loses, he'll still be considered the top guy at 140. And then break the bank again with Junior Witter who would probably have one more belt by then. Ricky's drinking and eating WILL catch up to him, it's just a question of when. I read somewhere that his team was going to have him fight five times in 2008, that's probably the smartest idea they've had for Ricky yet because fighting five times will allow him to stay in somewhat decent shape all year instead of blowing up a lot and then having to lose a ton of weight.

If you believe that Ricky's bloating during fights will not shortly start affecting his conditioning then you're crazy. I'm not saying that he's gonna turn to shit overnight but overeating and overdrinking takes years of your athletic life. Ricky's getting to the age (30+) where he's not technically "young" anymore and his body will start punishing him more and more during training camps for his lifestyle. His determination during training camps coupled with his youth allows him to be in tip-top shape in spite of his lifestyle, but his body can't keep doing it over and over. That is fact. A better idea seing as hatton wants 5 more fights before he retires.would be for Hatton to fight the belt holders and unify the way it should be done..Rather than waiting because he lost to Mayweather wich all of a sudden makes him the biggest draw in boxing.

I'm sorry man but Hatton is ducking Witter, plain and simple. You can defend him by asking, "Why would he be afraid of Witter when he just took on the best at a higher weight class?", but think about this, losing to floyd doesn't take away from his luster back home whereas losing to Witter in his own weight class in his own country would make him the #2 140 fighter in his own country. And he knows there's a very realistic chance of him losing to Witter. I think for his sake, he should fight Paulie first for confidence sake, and if he wins fight Witter to give himself the best opportunity.

Calzaghe looked unbeatable, Hatton showed heart, Witter looked hungry, Amir Khan looks like the future is all his, Clinton Woods stood tall and Enzo Maccarinelli was just a total BEAST!
