Who else thinks that IF, and thats a BIG IF, this match comes off, Roy Jones lets Silva go the distance and look decent. I think he'd pull that shit in a heart beat, much as I love Jones and think he's the greatest.

If it were a 10 or 12 round fight then, yes. But I think this thing would be made for like a 4 or 6 round, possibly 8 at the most "exhibition" or some phoney shit.

I think most BOXING fans would much rather see Roy fight other boxers as well. Not compete in a circus act.
I like and respect MMA and am a fan of that sport too, but Silva vs. Jones would be lame.

my guess would be that Silva just wants a big payday and MMA stars dont get nearly as much as boxing stars get. I saw the number for Silvas last PPV and he made 200K and that was a HUGE fight, if that was boxing he would have made like 8-10 million.

Silva has OUTSTANDING stand-up for an MMA fighter. He's actually a MT fighter so it makes sence. But he's be so far outclasses by Roy in boxing that he'd look horrible.

Roy would have a better chance at making a fight of it in mma than silva would have at boxing because in order to get your hands on roy to get him down you fist have to get passed his punches, and he'd land easily. But silva would eventually get him down... but not before roy did some heavy damage.

I'd be pulling for Andersen in this fight. I think his boxing skills are better than Glen Johnson and Johnson got the job done against Roy. At 6' 2" I think Silva will knock Roy out at this point in Roy's career.
