I agree Spicoli , but after the first Cintron didnt show any damn defense , i dont know what the hell he learned with Emanuel , he did good in the first with boxing and his Jab , but after that he mess it up.......

Only defense Cintron showed was ducking down under Tony's waist and turning his back while crying to the ref. Looked almost like their 1st fight; though Cintron actually managed to land some good shots; which Tony smiled at

Tony seemed wary of the right hand in the 1st couple of rounds, and didn't use his jab as much as he could have to get in; but no matter, Kermit started folding and let him walk right in and panicked. Guy needs to get out of this game. A big puncher with no heart. Clottey, Quintana, Mayweather and especially Cotto will all beat him; Cotto will beat him to within inches of his life.

Hope he makes another youboob video and apologizes for being a fraud.

First off,Cintron should be credited for fighting a guy that took his heart the first time. He didn't have to.

Second,I'm glad to see more people like Margarito. I've been defending this guy since I became a fan,at times against an entire forum. He's a bum,who has he beaten, what can he do blah blah blah. He showed you all tonight.

NO-ONE else could have taken Kermit's bombs,no-one.His combination were awesome.Bodyshots,uppercuts.His head movement to get inside looked good and he used his jab more than he does. I was hugely impressed. And taken into account,he has now faced 7/8 RING top ranked fighters, more than anyone else at WW and his last 4 fights have been v CIntron,Johnson,Williams and Clottey. Not bad for a "journeyman" eh?

Finally,Cotto and Margarito are my boys,my 2 fave fighters, but Marg is going to KO Cotto. I've been saying it for the last year and a half. Tony is too long, and although he'll eat bodyshots and jabs,so will Cotto. Tony is too strong on the inside and is a strong WW,stronger than anyone Cotto has faced before and much much bigger,I mean Tony loos like a strong 154 pounder.

Anynway, great stuff. I have ye tot see the Cotto fight,I just saw Tony's fight and got over excited.

    Very entertaining welterweight doubleheader.

Cintron seems like one of those classic KO artists who simply falls apart and crumbles when he realizes that the opponent can take his best punch. Margarito has a great chin and once he showed that he could walk thru everything and keep coming forward, the fight was over. Credit to Margarito for not getting discouraged by the Williams loss, he's moved on and looked better than ever.

Cotto was supposed to win in dominant fashion, so I don't want to get too excited, but there's no denying that he looked great. His evolution from a left-hook-to-the-body fighter to a well-rounded boxer puncher has been great to watch. His jab is such a dangerous weapon now.

Cotto-Margarito should be great. I'm definitely picking Cotto because I think he does everything a little bit better than Margarito, but Margarito will make him earn it.

What a fight night .Where are the aspirin?Great action leading to HUGE fight with Margarito vs.Cotto .Cotto looked much Improved and slick against the all heart and desire Gomez ,If only his skill set was on the same level as his will.Cotto has clearly upped his game to the next level and confidence is brimming, dictated everything with good body work and stiff accurate jabs.

Margarito will finally and deservedly get some respect leading into a massive showdown in July.So much for slow starts hence forth and he showed the drive and willingness to go all out that is sometimes the exception today.Great body focus and pressure fighting vs. Cintron and his proven solid chin has to be one of the best in the sport .Respect to Cintron for climbing into the ring and thinking he could revenge 1st beating.A physical dynamo but just can not seem to firm up the mental aspects.

Thanks for all of the awesome insight and The sticky.Sending Rep's & appreciation back with top notch respect .....

Btw,I'll take Margarito over Cotto in an exceptional gut-check fight for both. ....

Just my input here on both of the fights:

Cintron needs to go back to the drawing board and figure out something here. Cintrons good but it just so happens that Margaritos style is all too wrong for him. I think with the right mind set and training Cintron can bounce back.

As for Margarito what can I say man... El Gamo, myself and a couple of others can be proud to say that we are few and selected people here who have always believed that Margarito would be a handful for anyone. We never claimed him as great or the most athletic all we would say is he's got as good of a chance as anyone.
Someone help me out here who was the poster that would always relate to Margarito as just a "journeyman" Margarito seems to have really learned a lot from the Williams loss.

Gomez has no shame, I mean the people who were on here talking about upsets and Gomez having a chance or Gomez wining rounds were just talking out of their ass. If you couldn't see Gomez was outclassed then you need to rethink the way you view fighters. The margin between Gomez and Cotto was fucken huge. Tackie and SSM are fucken worlds apart. I would have Gomez take a short recess and then bounce back late this year Oct./Nov. I would like to see Gomez face off against any of these guys:

    Isaac Hlatswayo
Soto Karass (How would you like that Gamo?)
    Delvin Rodriguez
    Sebastian Lujan
    Jesse Feliciano

As for Cotto well what can I say, thats my man. And the more I see him in the ring the more I see him grow as a fighter. It'll be tough cause I like both Margarito and Cotto I've rooted for both for years and if they face off wow!!!
I gotta say I think Cotto wins by Decision. It will a tough fight all the way through but I think Cotto ability to trade and box will be the deciding factor.

Wow! Margarito took those two vicious right hands that would of laid just about anybody out, and he just smiled a genuine smile at Cintron as if to say, "Thanks that was nice!" His performance makes it seem like he just didn't choose the right game plan or was just having a really off night against Williams.

One of the most common and often devastating mistakes fighters make is to look past or underestimate their opponents, but Cotto so outclassed and was so supremely confident that it was almost as if he was having a casual workout in the gym on some equipment!

How could the announcers not see that body shot that put Gomez down in the 2nd? They didn't even seem like they bothered to look at the replay.

What an awesome prelude these two created for their show down!

It was funny when Stewart was asked about Cintron fighting Gomez and he was like, "Yeah they could, but whatever... Let's see Cotto/Margarito!"

That is a super post. Really really super. I've been a fan and defended Tony and Cotto more than anyone except you, you've ben a fan for longer and shows you know your stuff

I totally agree,I never said Tony was the best ever or anything like that but I honestly believe that he has the desire and style to give anyone at WW a tough fight and he proved it. Cintron was doing well from range, and Tony just adjusted, used head movement and a jab to get inside and throw bombs. He threw 133 punches in round, that is INSANE!!! All of them look solid

I also agree that Kermit can go back to the drawing board. Listen, just because Antonio Margarito can walk through your shots doesn't mean everyone else at the weight can and DOES NOT mean you're a bum. People can say what they like about Cintron but very very few fighters at WW would have been willing to walk through what Tony did to get inside and win. Kermit has deadly power.

Yeah and I feel FULLY vindicated: there have been SOOOOOOO many times in the past when Tony has been called a bumloser, journeyman, what has he done etc. Not bad for 2 time world champ and 7/8 RING top 10 fighters he's beaten hey?

Oh,I'd love to see a Gomez v Soto Karass fight but Soto would beat his ass from round 1 to 12. Good posting.

Good stuff Gamo. I sent some Rep. your way.
How I wish frozen and Starr were still here...

As for Karass vs. Gomez, I don't know man I think Gomez can give him a good run. It would be interesting to see.

Smile Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~

First of all my hats off to TONY and COTTO.
this wasn't no surprise. at first i thought because of CINTRON picking up Emanuel thire was going to be some contention in the fight but knowing how MY TIJUANO is hungry right now and wants to be a CHAMP which he already is in MY books shows me that he is capable of defeating anyone in his division.

Second...........I already knew also that COTTO was going to man handle Gomez. So sad to see a contender..ohh i;m sorry pretender...come out of his corner and think he was going to win. The face that COTTO left him was like quasimoto, all he needed was a hump on his back. to much pressure from outside the ring got too him(GOMEz)and that was the result. COtto was dancing switching to south paw which he doesn't do in other fights really. I had a party and when COTTO was bouncing he actually was bouncing to the music. how rythmatic was that.

Anyhoo......TONY vs COTTO...i know how much excitement this will bring. i love both these boxers but if i had to pick one i CHOOSE my TIJUANO. HE has a chin. he loves the fire and the intensity that's in the ring. I just think that we've seen COTTO get chin checked a couple of times but those boxers are not TONY.

that's my opinion and i'm sticking to it.............so i bid you all a good afternoon!!!!!

I going to say something that probably will make me the most hated poster here.

The fight I want to see is Gomez vs Chavez Jr, and I'm picking Gomez by TKO in the 7
