    Reid did first.

78% of people on here can't judge boxing then

and neither can the vast majority of sports writers and pundits around the globe.

Seriously can be objective, but you gotta look at how you are scoring fights if you saw that fight clearly for Hopkins.

As for the thread question, I would say at this moment in time Pavlick would have a very good chance of beating JC

I voted No. Don't get me wrong I think Pavlik is great, but he would be facing two big disadvantages here that he never faced much of.

Pavlik has never fought a world class southpaw, or a fighter with great lateral movement. He did fight McKart who is southpaw, but he had a huge size advantage over him and Mckart's better days were far behind him.

Now unless they can get him some great sparring, I can see him getting out hustled by Joe because Pavlik will be struggling for position all night. Pavlik will need to slow Joe's 37 year old legs down. He may be able to do it, but I can also see Joe summoning one last good performance out of them.

A great matchup, but I give Joe a slight advantage here. Pavlik may be more well rounded than I think and could figure him out though.

    A) To the lady letting us know Calzaghe already lost his 0 to Bernard. What planet do you live on? How's the weather there? Calzaghe shut Nard out the last 7 rounds, and that cannot be disputed. Great first four rounds for Bernard, but THATS IT. I cannot beleive how many stubborn Joe-bashers are playing that tune over and over. No way in hell Joe came anywhere close to losing that fight.

    B) In regard to the knockdown by Hopkins against Calzaghe. Joe came in funny and had nowhere to go. It was a good right hand, but Joe wasnt hurt. He had to go down cuz there was nowhere else to take the punch. He was NOT hurt. At all. Using this as some example that Joe is fading is asinine.

    Kelly, great power.

Puncher's chance only against JC. He gets absolutely schooled if he doesnt catch Joe with something horrific in the first 8.

    Joe by stupid lopsided UD.
I hate when people label something as a fact when it isn't i know for certain Hopkins had at least 2 good rounds after the first 4 rounds and those rounds could of gone either way. How is it a "fact" that he shut out Hopkins in last 7 rounds ?? i didn't know you was god almighty and everyone had to follow your "opinion".

And i never said Calzaghe was hurt from the knockdown why don't you read my post again before you start insulting people. But he was hurt a few times like in one round where he almost went down at the end of the round, and he was caught over and over again with straight right hands which is Kelly Pavlik's best punch. Plus his combination's aren't as fast or furious as they used to be, which hints to me that he is starting to become a faded force.

Whatever the dissenting opinion over your two round discrepency, JOE WON THAT FIGHT. The world at large, save a small percentage of Nard fans, all agree. Over and done.

Say what you will, thats the beauty of this country. But if they end up meeting, just remember what I said. Pavlik gets outclassed, outboxed, and loses convincingly.

And you know what? People will STILL doubt Joe. The next guy they pair up Calzaghe with, there will still be excuses made for Lacy, Kessler, Hopkins, and Pavlik as to why they weren't at their best or about how they got robbed.

Maybe Joe can never overcome the one thing that most hold silenty against him.

    He's not an American...

Have to say I totally agree with almost all of that.

The only thing I will say is that I think Pavlick would catch JC at some stage and if he does he will do damage! So for me it's 50-50 with 2 possibile outcomes- Pavlick TKO or JC Big UD

pavlik has shown great grit in his fights vs miranda and taylor 1, has a good right hand and good stamina......................i'd like to see this one and hope pavlik could win but it would be tricky

I am calm maybe your the one that needs to calm down. I stated my points without insulting you, i believe Hopkins won the fight and that doesn't make me "Insane" or whatever you think, just because i have a different opinion. Just like your's is an opinion not a "Fact".

By the way i am English i come from London, it doesn't mean just because i come from the UK i automatically have to like Calzaghe or etc, im not really a fan of his but i don't hate him i have most of his fights.

I just think he should of moved up to Light Heavyweight years ago. He always said he was tight at the weight. As for the wins you mentioned like i have said time and time again i never really rated Lacy, i see him struggle with mediocre opposition like Omar Sheika, Syd Vanderpool, i'll give Calzaghe credit for Kessler win because i did rate Kessler and i still do. I give Calzaghe credit for Hopkins win, even though i don't believe he won. But i still think younger Hopkins would of beaten him, but thats just my opinion.

Calzaghe was unlucky to come along at the wrong time when Benn, Watson, McCallum, Jones, Toney, Collins, etc had either retired or moved up in weight.

I voted no. I'd like to think that Calzaghe is spry enough to spin Pavlik round and round so that he can't land that one hammering blow that does the job.

Just out of curiousity has anyone seen either fighter fighting going backwards?

They both are come forward fighters, I think given Joe's jump in style and Pavlik's plow forward style we can all agree a bad clash of the heads is likely.

Good point. Another thing. I have never seen Kelly cut in a fight. He seems tough skinned.

I voted no, but it's a fight I could see going either way. Calzaghe's movement and workrate would probably give Pavlik problems, but then again, Pavlik's right hand would most likely be a danger to Joe all night long.

I'd like to see it...but I'd still like to see Joe and RJJ go at it first, just for the hell of it.

I think closely along your lines. Only difference is i don't see Joe's workrate being a problem with Pavlik. Pav seems to enjoy taking shots to the face

I see Lateral Movement and a southpaw stance giving Pavlik issues. He has somewhat shaky foot movement and it could spell trouble. I am basing my observations on what he has faced so far in opponents. He may actually have an answer for it though and prove me wrong.

The answer Pavlik will have, will be when Joe tries to jump in close, square up and unload his flurries. When he does that, I think Pavlik will just punch through it, he knows Joe doesn't have anything that can hurt him.

reid barely won 1 round against calzaghe. I was hard pressed to give reid anything.
