Mosley had Cotto reeling backwards from the 9th rd on from the pressure, and Mosley's a small welter that has been past his prime for a few yrs now. Cotto will not see the final bell. Magarito by tko 11.Cotto will cave in from the pressure.

Cotto has looked in trouble under pressure before but every fight lately he seems to have a new trick up his sleeve. He is very unpredictable I think for his opponents, which is why I think Floyd wants nothing to do with him.

If he does get stopped I won't be surprised, Tony is one tough nut who can take a crack to give one, everytime.

Cotto was nowhere near being in trouble against Mosely. People probably think this way because he switched to his boxer mode in the later rounds which is perfectly fine because his JABS were almost like powerpunches anyways.

I disagree with this i haven't seen the fight in quite sometime but i remember Cotto being buzzed in the 1st half of the 10th round. But Cotto did take his foot off the pedal because he was ahead in the fight which was a bad move IMO, because it almost cost him the fight. I think Cotto will win but he won't be able to take rounds off against Margarito like he did with Shane, he will be made to work hard for 3 minutes of every round, because Margarito gets stronger and stronger as the fight goes on.

Thats cool, Mosley & Tony are two different types big time.It was not so much the 9th round Cotto was effected,he and Mosley actually worked Jabs well but I did not see Cotto winning that round.The beginning of the 10th when Cotto went hard semi-through the ropes ,partly backing so fast and partly Mosleys over hand right.Tony is not as fast as Mosley by any means but can hit much,much harder and with more volume.Cotto did very well in switching gears later but its being made to sound like he simply decided too out of boredom as opposed to out of necessity...Mosley was catching him plain and simple,30 seconds into the 10th Mosley gets him on ropes and caught him clean ,Cotto got that stand up tall look and felt it.Cotto managed to retain that tight high guard but this is where I see Tony bringing them straight and from underneath on Cotto.Cotto has developed as a boxer well but Margarito can get him to the ropes,He will HAVE to stand and throw,Its his nature and instinct.
If Cotto thinks he can just fight in those disciplined moments then move around as he pleases & "win the easy way" without Margarito cutting him off & putting constant heat on him,He is Mistaken.Cottos should bring some power jabs and alot of body work,Margarito needs to cut him off,use mass volume & angels with uppercuts splitting the guard. Hey Rene , i dont know how many times did you see that fight buddy , but i think that you need more times for analizes that fight , i gave 7 - 5 to Cotto , is not because im a Cotto fan , but bro.......we have to be realistic , if you remember Mosley after round 5 , he knew that if he continued to fight at the same way that he began , he would been KO , he felt the Cottos power , then after round 9 Cotto took more slowly going backwards and that doesnt mean that he was tire , if you can see he always comes with new skills and that was ones that he were making backwards , boxing , speed and double jabs etc..., i admired Mosley because he assimilated somes real good shots of Cotto , i respect your opinion Rene , but i dont Speculate when i see a boxer that try to make see his improvements and that Count bro.........

I don't think Tony will have the strenght by round 12. If he is to win by KO it will need to be early I would think. Tony always seems stronger earlier in the fight. That might seem obvious but some fighters are better at waiting till the later rounds to open up, I just don't see Tony as one.

We cannot compare Mosley who is a lot faster than Margarito and a good body puncher at 147. The part of the analysis that we may be missing is that Cotto could counter punch effectively against Mosley and this may indicate that Cotto can counter punch effectively a slower opponent like Margarito. I know in boxing we cannot make a direct relationship because of the difference in styles, but for me this is a high probability in this case. Cotto started to get hit more frequently in various fights and got hurt when he forgot his boxing and tried to press the fights all the time. I believe he tried to replicate a little Tito's style and they are different types of punchers. Now I see Cotto fighting more with his true style (watch his early fights to learn a little bit more about Cotto), pressing when he has to press and counter-punching when needed. I believe this would be a big headache for Margarito. I believe Cotto wins by UD.

A young Mosley, especially the one that fought Oscar in their first fight, would have dismantled Cotto. I have watched the Mosley/Cotto fight several times and i see it a draw each time. The Mosley in that fight was considerably slower and not particularly crisp with his punches. Yet he was till able to land on Cotto with regularity. A prime Mosley was fast as lightning and would have landed 4 punches for one of Cotto's.
