    Good call.
I figured the inactivity would be too much for Santos but good for him.

In all honesty when he beat Simms, it looked like Simms didn't want to be there at the time. I think it was more Simms not doing anything than Alcine being the man.

    Dear Puerto Rico,

    Quit winning all the titles.

    Best Regards,

Santos has always struck me as the type of guy who could do pretty well if he really wanted to. He's got some things going for him. I'd be shocked if Bunema beat him. Course I was shocked when Bunema beat Karmazin.

Very true. Santos hurt Tony twice in that fight. Tony even did a little dance after getting hit hard the first time.

Though you have made some pretty good predictions, I don't really give you credit for the Juan Manuel Lopez prediction, since you did pick him to lose vs. de Leon. It's like you are right and wrong at the same time, but how can that be?
    True.
Maybe next time I should keep track of my own predictions when I make them. Would I had remembered that I made that prediction last year I would have stuck with it. But oh! well it happens and I've got no problems with being wrong cause it wont be the last time.
Your response to my calling you out shows that you are a good sport. Your prediction of Juanma's success shows that deep down inside, you saw greatness. Gotta go with your instincts!!

Santos was actually ahead on my scorecards I had him up 3 rounds to 2.
Alcine was waking up and seemed to be bringing pressue in round 5.

In the 6th Alcine was again coming forward and then in a short sequence Santos stepped back and threw a straigh left that caught Alcine on the side of his head at 1st look I though it was on the ear but after looking at it again it looked more towards the temple.

Alcine went down and managed to slowly get up but then falls back down the ref. waived it off. In the post fight interview Alcine said he felt the fight had been stopped prematurely. Go figure?

    Heres the KO: Enjoy!!!

Thanks for that. Stopped prematurely? Alcine is lucky the ref bothered counting cuz some would have waved it off right away with him lying there the way he was.

Im happy for Santos . Hes always been a dangerous banger . He came over here and was dropped by Sinclair but then knocke dhim out in the next round. I paid to see Santos fight Harry Simon in Manchester but he pulled out and Alexander stepped in .

Yeah, you're right. But you haven't seen the last of either one of them.

By the way Mick, that link was a great video collage. I noticed that Santos speaks very good English, much better than Cotto. He also seems like a humble guy. I hope that now he gets the respect he deserves from his fellow Puerto Ricans, who can be very, very, critical on the island. I remember they booed Juanma when his fight went the distance (I believe it was his last that went the distance). The fans should have realized that going the distance and winning was part of the process of maturing as a boxer for Juanma. In Santos case, he had shoes to follow like Tito and Cotto. He will never be as popular, but certainly worthy of respect from his countrymen. A fight with Mora might be intriguing stylistically.

Guilty as charged, Rican. But having said that, Santos in the past hasn't helped his own cause with some periods of lackadaisical training and inactivity. PR Punch DID say some of it was due to promoter issues. But he needs to get his butt in gear and resolve those issues if he wants to continue on top and join the upper echelon with the Trinidads and the Cottos.

Can't argue with you since you are correct. But I would say that the promoter thing is holding him back these days more than his level of commitment. For example, why wasn't this last fight and the one against Rivera on television? I guess Santos needs to be more vocal. When you stand up to King, he seems to give you what you want.

I hate it that sleaze buckets like King have held back the careers of some very worthy fighters... and all to serve his greedy interests.

Is the video on youtube do you know ?

It may shed a new light on Cotto - Margarito if we see Tony on Judah legs . I know he can get hurt to the body and if we see him hurt to the head then he stands little chance cuz we know he cant outbox Cotto either .
