    Since when
Falafel is only chick peas fried in vegtable oil topped with cucumber sauce, just straight veggies is just straight veggies, just straight steak is just straight steak.
A proper cheese steak is chopped steak with american cheese on an Amaroso roll with peppers and onion and sauce of the tomato.
Im not getting the junk food part
Now if I was recomending fast food joints, youd have a point, because as good as they taste, most of those fries are suicide as far as fat content,I would have mentioned Chinese food, but generally,I either go for quantity,or just any place thats a whole in the wall in that cities Chinatown that isnt serving duck.I like ducks, and even if I didnt, theyre fatty as hell anyway.
But regardless, this is what your eating on the road, wether you like it or not,you probably cant afford a private chef, and room service is probably worse for you if the hotel your in even has it.
Why would you encourage a fighter to eat Pizza, Burgers and Cheese Steaks?
Exactly my point. He's listing a bunch of high-fat, oily foods and saying it's healthy because there's a vegetable in it.
And you exactly missed my point
Your in down for mostly 3 days, you come in probably late the night before the weigh in,you have the weigh in/interview/autograph session the next day,if your smart you showed up under weight. After the weigh in this probably the only unsupervised time youve got. The next day is the fight, and they cant wait to send you home the next morning. You dont have all day to be traipsing all over the city your in. So youd best know where your going and what your planning to eat in advance, because if left to themselves boxers just end up eating in the nearest diner.
Now diner food tastes good, but if you want to talk high oil content.............

I dunno TM, but my diet the day before and prefight has nothing to do with time and convenience, and everything to do with loading up properly on carbs and the right amounts of sugars to have the energy I require to fight at my best.

You'd be suprprised at how many coaches don't know about proper nutrition. My coach takes us to Wendy's and McDonalds before fights! Then I get shit from him and his wife when I refuse to eat that crap.

You'd think they should know something about it though. Shocking really!

It's frustrating too because these young guys look up to him to know everything that they should be doing and he's teaching them TERRIBLE eating habits. Not just for boxing, but for life in general.

I gave up long ago trying to educate them about nutrition and now I just pack all of my own food. Everyone else has to fend for themselves...which usually includes 2 or 4 sodas, fries and a greasy cheeseburger.

Based on what, none of his fighters have even won a fight? His current 'stars' are 2-15 and 0-3 and have been knocked out 17 times between them. If there is a worse record in the whole history of boxing I have yet to hear of it

I read in another thread Donny mentioning that Animal Pak nutrient supplement was banned in many countries because of the levels of vitamin E and B12.

What are your thoughts are it, a B12 shot prefight? How useful is it and how long does it last?

I drink one of these an hour or two before I fight. I think it helps.

I think it's fine to think that Trainer Monkey was just a bit wrong about the diet thing ........ but he is a real trainer at least (as far as I know), and lots of people here are wannabes ........ there's no reason to give a well-respected poster quite so much shit !

Poor diet advice to kids who have poor diets anyway isn't quite in the same league as pouring plaster of paris in their gloves.

If you ate it every day it would freaking kill you,Im only talking about when your in town briefly.
Sorry,I havent had alot of time to find the nice vegetarian restaurant in every city, and while I like Chinese food, they rarely serve an edible version in most airports in America
If somebody has a list, they should feel free to post them.
Because boxers end up eating in Denny's most of the time.
Also you should enjoy your time in whatever city your in,and part of that is the food.Your only going to be there 3 or 4 days, and may never be there again. One of the few perks you get out of boxing is being able to travel. And I hate break it to the Europeans, most American food is terrible for you.You think Pizza is rough, try a diner Chicken Croquette with mashed potatoes,if you can even see the croquette for the gravy you have X-ray vision.

What's wrong with taking you're own food or buying from the local supermarket? You can easily take meal replacement sachets etc...
