I think Haye just about deserved to win. But I think both John Ruiz in their first fight and Evander Holyfield beat him more impressively. Oh and Chagaev of course.

When a fighter loses to John Ruiz, Ruslan Chagaev and an almost 50 old Holyfield you know he ain't up to much.

Haye performed about as well as a nearly 50 Evander and John Ruiz, one of the maligned and mediocre champs in recent years.

All Haye proved was that he's not even close to being one of the top players in the division.

If he fights a Klitschko he loses as uneventfully and routinely as Rahman, Brock, Arreola, Chagaev etc did before him.

He brings nothing new to the table apart from a big mouth.

Odlanier Solis will be a bigger threat to the top guys than Haye. Even Thomas Adamek has as much chance of making an impression imo.

We will see, the 'reality' is that Haye pulled out of a fight with Wlad, thne Vitali. He made his name calling them out and then smartly cancelled on them and went after the division's David Diaz to get his belt.

When he fights Wlad he will be dismantled and chopped down as one sidedly and predictably as any of Wlad's last 8 or 9 opponents.

Haye is faster, punches harder and has more skill than everyone you have mentioned. FACT.

Ruiz and Evander are jokes in the heavyweight divison. So is Larry Donald. Ruslan Chagaev is, as we saw against Wlad lightyears away from being the best at heavyweight.

Haye being faster, a bigger puncher (none of those guys are punchers) and having more skill is no big deal at all, for the supposed saviour of the heavyweight division.

Povetkin, Chambers, Solis and Dimitresko are all more promising prospects than Haye.

By the way, watch this clip fast forward to around the 4.30 mark and listen to the GERMAN crowd when Valuev gets the decision over Larry Donald. Even his OWN fans boo the crap out of the decision......

What the fuck has that video got to do with Haye? And as for Povetkin, Chambers, Solis and Dimitrenko, if Haye fights them i'd be willing to bet he beats all 4, they are all shite.

Oh yeah and Haye is no longer just a prospect, he is THE Heavyweight Champion of the World.

why the hate for david haye, especially the few british lads on here givin him stick. i thought he fought the perfect fight, yeah it was boring, but he did what he had too do, those on here that say valuev won it are absolutely crazy. a boxing fight first and foremost is scored on shots landed, that is the primary scoring system(check the rules) and aggresion and all that shit is secondary.but first and foremost its shots landed. haye outland valuev easily, and scored the most eye catching punches, yeah haye was on the back foot, but how else did u expect haye too beat valuev, ive sat silently for a while just wathing peoples posts about the fight, and people who i thought knew boxing that are sayin valuev won the fight must not no shit, not naming names. haye won that fight with ease, he made valuev look so ordinary its unreal(which we no he is,many have tried and most have failed). i no now that im gonna get some mixed replies from this thread, but im more than happy too answer, WELL DONE DAVID HAYE, WE NEED A FIGHTER LIKE U FOR THE SAKE OF THE HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION, GOD BLESS U

You do realize that brewster pretty much had an iron chin in his prime, there is no way haye could take half of what brewster had to take in that fight to down wlad in the fifth round. Wlad used to gas, isn't really the same fighter anymore...if haye does decide to sign to fight one of the two brothers in the next 18 months or so and actually goes thru with it this time, he's getting hammered.

See Paddy here's the problem I have, I remembered you writing a similar thread about a month back after the Froch fight where you argued the opposite. Do you feel a need to do this every time someone doesn't score with patriotism as you appear to suggest to Bilbo here?

I've said it a number of times, but I can't see how someone could be saying that Froch won based on Dirrell's negativity & then not give Valuev rounds when Haye was being negative. I thought both Haye & Dirrell won based on how we score rounds in boxing, but I simply can't see the justification in one & not the other. Granted the rounds were not the same exact rounds, but there were similar patterns & if you scored a round for Froch for being aggressive, the same should of been done for Valuev.
