He's been upgraded to stable condition and is responding to stimuli which is thought to be a real good sign. Have no idea if he's really totally out of the woods or not.

good to hear that z is recovering, too bad his boxing days are over.
Hopefully he pulls through out. On a related note, have there been any recent updates about Oscar Diaz? I was always a big fan of his.
Z Gorres Update | Fightnews - Boxing News Updated 24/7
Fightnews is happy to report that professional medical opinion is that fomer world title challenger Z Gorres is expected to have a functional life. For now, he will need to rehabilitate his left side which may need time but he is no longer in critical condition although still in a serious situation. Gorres may be removed from the ventilator in the next 48 hours. According to Dr. Casey (Trauma Surgeon), the progress of Gorres is remarkable and is normally seen in two weeks but because Gorres who is young and in great health responded well in only five days. “Z has dramatically improved, I am happy with his developement” said Casey.
“We are pleased to hear the news and would like to thank everyone for all the prayers that we know that have helped Z recover from the biggest fight of his life. Thank you,” said Michael Aldeguer President of ALA Promotions. (Gorres’ Promoter in the Philippines). Gorres won a unanimous decision over Luis Melendez on Friday night in Las Vegas. Moments later he collapsed to the canvas and was taken on a stretcher to University Medical Center’s trauma unit where he underwent surgery to relieve pressure on his brain.
Best thing I have read all week, excellent bit of news.
Good news and i hope he makes a full recovery, Z Gorres is well respected down here.
I think I speak for all of us here at Saddo's in that we hope for a full recovery and we're thankful for the good news.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
yea i hope he continues to improve and makes a full recovery, Oscar Diaz is already back home, he pulled through and is expected to be able to live a good life, although he's never gonna be 100% again, obviously he'll never fight again, but given the situation that him and Gorres is in that's pretty irrelevant
Very good, he hasn't been in come too long, that's a very good sign, second one is to answer back to stimulus, means no paralyzing in sight, which is another very excellent thing. Now, let's see how long it takes for his left side to start to answer properly to the treatments but from what you're telling at the moment, it looks promising.
