Kessler by decision. I'd love to see Ward pull it off but I don't think he is seasoned enough yet to deal with Kessler. I think Wards style & speed will cause problems early but down the stretch is where I see Mikkel pulling away. If he hurts Ward I think Andre will get on his bike & go into survival mode

I think Ward wins by split but judges give him unanimous.
    Should be fairly competitive fight.

    I don't see a stoppage here.

Less convinced about who will win, for some reason I'm leaning Ward (I just think there's something there, that he'll rise to the occasion but I freely admit that I'm not sure why I have that feeling). Kessler by decision is probably the safer pick but I'll stick with Ward unless Fenster picks him.

    Who do the experts pick?

Ward: Steve Farhood (Showtime), Kevin Iole (Yahoo), Keiren Mulvaney (ESPN.COM and Reuters), Graham Houston

Kessler: Doug Fischer (Ring TV), Joe Santoliquito (Ring Mag Cheif Editor), Tim Smith (NY Daily News), Burt Sugar (Historian).

Mikkel Kessler or Andre Ward? Boxing Experts Weigh In -- Boxing FanHouse

I like Ward. The x-factor is whether Ward has a glass jaw and on the same note, whether Kessler can actually land punches. Of course, Kessler has fought at a much higher level than Ward with wins over Andrade, Mundine, Beyer etc and thus he may be able to adjust better than Ward. However, Kessler's only defeat came against a faster fighter. Now, Calzaghe was an entirely different animal than Ward but still maybe Kessler has trouble with speed? not that he is much slower, if at all, than Ward.

Admittedly, I haven't seen much of Mundine. Are Ward and Mundine at all comparable?

    You're safe.

I'm picking Kessler because I want him to make Calzaghe look better.

just had the weigh in, apparently there was a bit of trash talking but it seemed forced and Ward didnt look comfortable with it

Glad they both made weight comfortably. The trash talk doesnt seem nessissary for this one though.

I'm presuming it's not on TV in the UK...

its on primetime ppv for £5.95 if you have sky...

bear in mind though that as the fight is californa the time difference is 8 hours rather than the 5 hours it usally is for big fights, i wouldnt be suprised if the fight doesnt start till gone 6am uk time

Oops, thought I pressed quote then had some robot talking to me.

I guess you can hope they've learned from there mistakes n I expect the viewing figures will be less from this one. Never thought i'd say it but maybe trying to watch it off a stream will be a safer bet?

im in two minds personally, thinking of buying it but maybe sky plusing because i cant see me stopping up for it, one thing is though the tsreams of the last primetime show were decent , think because their new to it they didnt realise they have these streams so they werent taken down like hbos or sky box offfices are

by the way heres a vid of the weigh in

I pick Ward to win via decision. Andre got some speed that could present some trouble to Kessler. I also don't like Kessler's inactivity who only fought 1 fight during the past year while Andre had 4 fights including the Edison Miranda fight.
