Same was said about Larry Holmes and Lennox Lewis and basically anyone that's not Mike Tyson. I've heard it about everyone and really the people that believe Wlad is boring are the people that don't understand how difficult it actually is to be that dominant of a fighter. Could Wlad add some flash and some danger to his style? Sure, but why would he handicap himself? Nobody would have asked Tyson to fight like Willie Pep.

The reason the fight isn't being shown in the US is because the US has a lack of respect for the heavyweight division because the average "sports fan" doesn't think there are any Americans in the hunt for the title, and that's very disrespectful to guys like Eddie Chambers whom although may be a pudgey cruiserweight he's very skilled and he should have earned some respect.

But make no doubt about it the Klitschko's are a big deal in Europe and Wlad will have asses in the seats on Saturday.

Don Steinberg on ESPN.com said "Klitschko is 14-2 with 12 KOs in title fights. It sounds exciting, but the fights have been dreary. (Against Ray Austin in 2007, Klitschko won by TKO in Round 2 without ever throwing a right hand.)"

    Yeah...."dreary"...that describes the Austin fight

I'm sorry that KO is pretty well worth the time they spent "feeling each other out". Wlad showed a solid jab and good defense up until the KO but it just shows you when Wlad knows he can finish someone he does it. His fight with Calvin Brock was also pretty good as well.

Most of the people that hate on Wlad either have another heavyweight they like or they don't want to admit that Wlad has top notch boxing skill despite having flaws that would have derailed the careers of lesser skilled fighters.

Notice that boxing goes into a funk in AMerica when the HW champ is not exciting? Americans expect the HW champ to be a Dempsey, Marciano, ALi, Tyson, Holyfield, etc. An exciting champ, not some robotic cautious pawing giant. I think Larry Merchant put it best when he said, "Boxing is drama and theater." I see no drama or theater with Wlad. And a lot of people would agree with me on that, not just the casual fight fan but amongst hardcore followers of the sport.

At first I thought it was the American thing, but Pacquiao ain't American he doesn't seem to have a problem bringing people to Cowboys stadium or people paying to see his PPVs doesn't he? And he's not a HW but a WW.

In that ring article I posted on page 1, Goosen makes a good point in that if Wlad was an exciting HW champ he would be all over tv, times square, etc. But the truth of the matter he's not exciting. And really I don't think him not being American has anything to do with it.

Luckily for Wlad fans, you can see his entire career on video as it has been implemented in this piece of literature:

LEwis was even more of a bore with his relentless grabbing but peoples didn't complain that much, there is really 2 weights 2 measures when it comes to Wlad and Vitali.

Lennox wasn't that boring when he destroyed Frans Botha and Andrew Golota in ONE ROUND.

    Or fought Holyfield twice.

    Or KO'd Tyson.

Or viciously avenged his defeat to Rahman.

Only time he really bored me was against Tua.

Just bout all of Wlad's fights are like the Tua fight...

When you KO somebody in one round, you don't really have the time to be boring because you do not have the time to be really exciting neither.

Fights against Holyfield were as boring as it can be with a multiple grab configuration that made me cursed to have paid for such fight. At least, Wlad is not holding as much, peoples just don't like the piston a like jab and the safe style but I fail to see how Wlad is more boring than Lewis.

Lennox had his exciting moments same as anyone else, but with Wladimir nobody ever even acknowledges anything positive Wladimir does. I don't expect you to come around and start to like Wladimir, Hulk. I can only hope the Klitschko bashing ebbs with time. There are times when I get a little impatient with the way Wlad fights (Rahman, Sultan, Chagaev) but I'm never not impressed by how Wlad stymies such fighters. But recently Wladimir's opponents have come to the ring to cash out, they haven't tried to win, they haven't done anything other than try to survive and there's not much Wlad can do about his opponents.

The last fighter that actually FOUGHT Wladimir and tried to win was Tony Thompson and before that Calvin Brock gave Wlad as good of a fight as he could muster. Other than that recently guys have just been trying to survive, but should Wlad let his guard down entirely the consequences could be very severe.

As for comparing Wlad to American heavyweights, you just can't expect Wlad to fight like Dempsey or Tyson it's moronic. Even when Wlad opened up the offense in the past (before he switched trainers) he hasn't gotten any respect.

Wlad has sorry opponents, yes this is true. But he should take them out like he did Ray Austin.

He likes to jab, jab, jab, then jab some more, and occasionally throw a right hand or God forbid a left hook.

He holds back because he is scared to death to open up and risk exchanging and being countered.

His saftey first style combined with fighting guys who are too scared themselves to really bring the fight to him and clueless of how to slip a jab and get inside make some terrible fights.
