Are you fucking kidding me? Are people really that stupid? I have a very hard time believe this is why they won't televise the Klitschko - Chambers fight.
To answer your question, yes people can be that stupid. But really, wlad just has a boring style. It does not make great exciting drama, hence no HBO fight.

While I don't disagree with you, I find is somewhat odd that a guy who knocks almost everyone he fights out and who is always in danger of being knocked out himself actually manages to be a boring fighter.

that's because fighters like that tend to be safety first.

Which sort of contradicts the fact that in championship fights he's either knocked out or has been knocked in 14 of 16 bouts. or may its 12-2(10) can't remember.

how is it contradicting? one thing I would say about Wlad is that he's aptly named Dr.Steelhammer.

take the tony thompson fight. a horrible fight completely devoid of any skill from either fighter. Wlad ends it with a single punch.

he saps his opponents' strength when he holds. he even jabs to set up clinches. he doesn't throw uppercuts because it leaves him open. he doesn't even step in to throw lefthooks because that leaves him open. wlad right now is the definition of a safety first fighter.

Because Wlad fights like John Ruiz with power. Jab and grab for 8 rounds and then knocking them out late.

I am amazed that they've never been warned for holding.

You know, I wish more points would be taken away in fights for excessive holding. It's not fun to watch and blatant clinching and holding on without doing anything more is not inside fighting. People like Klistchko and old man Hopkins are just horrible to watch at times. Ugh.

This ring magazine article gives great insight why HBO didn't pick up this fight.
The fact Klitschko-Chambers is not on U.S. TV is a new low

And I have to say I agree with the article.

Wlad just reminds me a lot of a Larry Holmes. A very good technical HW champion, but boring as fuk and reigning in a weak era. There's a reason why Holmes couldn't draw flies to his bouts and actually had to have a 50/50 purse split when he fought Gerry Cooney and was introduced 1st, which always is reserve for the challenger in boxing tradition.

Most boxing fans want the HW champ to be exciting like a Johnson, Dempsey, Marciano, Ali, Tyson, Holyfield, etc. They don't want robotic technically sound safety 1st HW champs.

Larry Holmes never grabbed his opponents for most of the bout when he had every advantage over them, look at his fight with Ken Norton or Shavers.

The difference between Holmes and Wladimer is night and day.

To be fair in the book by Mary Shelley there was only one of them created in the laboratory so when HBO viewers see two of them it's understandable that it's a little confusing.

Same was said about Larry Holmes and Lennox Lewis and basically anyone that's not Mike Tyson. I've heard it about everyone and really the people that believe Wlad is boring are the people that don't understand how difficult it actually is to be that dominant of a fighter. Could Wlad add some flash and some danger to his style? Sure, but why would he handicap himself? Nobody would have asked Tyson to fight like Willie Pep.

The reason the fight isn't being shown in the US is because the US has a lack of respect for the heavyweight division because the average "sports fan" doesn't think there are any Americans in the hunt for the title, and that's very disrespectful to guys like Eddie Chambers whom although may be a pudgey cruiserweight he's very skilled and he should have earned some respect.

But make no doubt about it the Klitschko's are a big deal in Europe and Wlad will have asses in the seats on Saturday.

Don Steinberg on ESPN.com said "Klitschko is 14-2 with 12 KOs in title fights. It sounds exciting, but the fights have been dreary. (Against Ray Austin in 2007, Klitschko won by TKO in Round 2 without ever throwing a right hand.)"

    Yeah...."dreary"...that describes the Austin fight

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hO_sWnawpU4

I'm sorry that KO is pretty well worth the time they spent "feeling each other out". Wlad showed a solid jab and good defense up until the KO but it just shows you when Wlad knows he can finish someone he does it. His fight with Calvin Brock was also pretty good as well.

Most of the people that hate on Wlad either have another heavyweight they like or they don't want to admit that Wlad has top notch boxing skill despite having flaws that would have derailed the careers of lesser skilled fighters.

Notice that boxing goes into a funk in AMerica when the HW champ is not exciting? Americans expect the HW champ to be a Dempsey, Marciano, ALi, Tyson, Holyfield, etc. An exciting champ, not some robotic cautious pawing giant. I think Larry Merchant put it best when he said, "Boxing is drama and theater." I see no drama or theater with Wlad. And a lot of people would agree with me on that, not just the casual fight fan but amongst hardcore followers of the sport.

At first I thought it was the American thing, but Pacquiao ain't American he doesn't seem to have a problem bringing people to Cowboys stadium or people paying to see his PPVs doesn't he? And he's not a HW but a WW.

In that ring article I posted on page 1, Goosen makes a good point in that if Wlad was an exciting HW champ he would be all over tv, times square, etc. But the truth of the matter he's not exciting. And really I don't think him not being American has anything to do with it.

Luckily for Wlad fans, you can see his entire career on video as it has been implemented in this piece of literature:
