Serious question about a title belt and a reality show!!

They paid 100, it worth 1000 in piss poor condition and after a 350 restoration around 2500... bunch of crooks

Yeah but they have to either

A. HOPE someone walks in and is wanting to buy it...

B. depending on if or how long that takes they have the money tied up in it...

c. If they have to have it sold at an auction house they lose the automatic fee for the auction and lose the appraisal price that the auctions use an outside appraiser for and they need to HOP it actually goes for 2500..

Those are the best scenario prices...does not mean they will get that much for it

For a Coca Cola device? They will. These things are hugely popular and there is tons of collectors around who would buy it.

So someone's wrong here. I called the shop and they said Cory... I made sure... but here it says Leon... Which makes more sense. I would figure those guys would know, though. This is just some rando TV blog.

I think the shop may have their Spinks mixed up. But I don't think Leon ever won the IBF title... Just the WBA and WBC. I'm pretty confused.

OK, so I called back to verify. #1, there's no engraved name on it... So for all intents and purposes it could just be a production of the belt(a "real" IBF belt... but a production one sold by the IBF all the same.). Doesn't the governing body engrave the plaques on the sides for you? I asked if his name was engraved and they said no. #2 I then asked for a price on it and they said they're not looking to get rid of it at this time.

So who the hell knows.

It's probably Cory's.

Well here is a closer picture of it...Does not look engraved...Maybe just the WBA is...Like the WBC has pictures of past champions..

That makes sense. You know, I even looked up the Spinks(Michael and Leon's) Olympic runs after seeing the medal in front of the IBF belt in the shop thinking that could shed some light on it but they were in the Olympics in the 70s and that's an '84 medal.
