I honestly think he'd beat Cotto right now, I think Cotto isn't the same fighter pre-Margarito & subsequent fights with Clottey & Pacquiao have taken a lot out of him. But, then he's not part of the Bob Arum fraternity so he wouldn't get it. He should steer clear of the big 3 though. I think he will rematch Collazo if Collazo beats Aydin. Even an Aydin fight would be good, because Aydin can bang. If Shane loses to Mayweather, maybe a fight somewhere down the line wouldn't be a bad idea, although I reckon that PBF, Pac & possibly Shane will all be retired or about to by this time next year.
Berto doesn't have the intelligence or the power of Mosley though. I think there's a good chance he would be overwhelmed by Margarito's pressure and end up being forced into a toe-to-toe fight instead of moving and countering like Mosley. WHo knows though, I really have no idea how that fight would play out. I'd really like to see it, though I'd much rather see Margarito banned for life.
I don't think Berto lasts till the final bell vs Cotto, Cotto busts him up inside and finishes him, If Cotto fought smart against Pacquiao he could've won, he was right in that fight till the second KD
Berto isnt a hard core fighter like Cotto or Mosley......I dont like the complaining and the denial that he was floored by quintana....

Rather see Berto fight Cintron next.

Yea, but he was borderline correct. He got hit behind the ear. Quintana was holding spinning Berto and punching him. The first knock down looked like a knock down in the replay. But watching it live, I thought Quintana pulled him more off balance when he went down. A foul is a foul and any should fighter have the right to complain if fouled.
I prefer the reaction what Muhammad Ali did, (I forget who he was fighting, maybe Leon Spinks) I vaguly remember him grabing his opponent and knocking on the back of his head repeatedly after getting hit one too many times with a rabbit punch.
I did a quick search it was Chuck Wepner.

After seeing this fight I think Shane Mosley was right. He would've ruined Berto. I don't think Berto is going to be the next. He will have nothing for Pac, Mosley, or Mayweather. I just don't see Berto improving. Berto is rather easy to time and he never makes you guess. Fast hands but nothing else exceptional. I hope someone in his team tells him the truth. Leave the big 3 alone.

Man I called that fight exactly how it went.
Some of last night was ring rust, I'm sure. I like Berto. He might have fought a little stupid against Collazo, but he earned my respect in that fight. He's got great speed and his uppercut is a thing of beauty.
But...
Shane would spark him, no doubt. He can't control Mosley with his jab, and Mosley would catch him all night long when he jumps in, and he would make him pay with counters for those combinations. It would be a man against a boy.
I think he gets the Cotto/Foreman winner.
Berto was poor, no poise and composure, just loading up and little boxing skills.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I think he looked good, just lost his head and wanted to brawl. He fell into the trapps all night.
With some fine tuning he could be very good, but he without doubt needs to avoid top 3.
