Well, decent enough win for Berto. But any of the top guys in the division will bust him up. He holds far too much and looks for breathers.

I think he was rusty, he has been out almost a year, and once he relaxed in the 7th round he took over. I still believe he's got some serious promise. How he finished Quintana was excellent, he was much more measured, but precise with what he did. If he'd started like that, he would have done the job. I think he was also way too hot-headed & determined to blow Quintana away at the start because of the Haiti thing.

Not fair bro Quintana fought a negative fight, constantly holding Berto's arm not allowing him to work.
Clearly we see it diffrently. Its what I believe.Berto has always clinched and leaned in...seems his corner has recognized it as well.Watch his last 6 fights or so and tell me he does not clinch and hold.I think hes flawed and he is not improving on a scale or pace to hold his own with a Mosley or Mayweather. No where close I believe.Meet me back here when he is p4p top tier and beats guys of that ilk and I promise to eat my words, hook line and sinker.

He has all the talent to become a P4P star in the sport, he just needs to work on a few things like squaring up and loading up and winging his punches and he'll be fine. However, those have been glaring issues for so long now they seem to have become bad habits.

I think those things can be worked on. The coverage over here were really questioning whether his head was in the right place following what he saw in Haiti. He wouldn't be able to live with Floyd, Shane or Manny right now, but he should keep busy maybe fighting Cotto, he's part of the next gen of 147lbers with Mike Jones & Saul Alvarez.

I think they can be worked on too, but my point is that they've been clear issues for a long time now and they still haven't been corrected. IMO that's a big red flag for Berto going forward. He should avoid Cotto at this point, unless it becomes clear in the Foreman fight that he's really on the slide. I'd like to see him rematch Collazo.

its a good thing berto didnt fight mosley. he holds too much. he takes too many breathers and he complains too much. the "slip" on the first round was a real knock down. good thing quintana fought like ishh tonight.
did he say " i think manny pacquiao is free" or something like that?
listening to manny steward on his post fight commentary and looking at his face makes me think that deep inside hes saying something like "too bad he didnt wait for cotto to test that chin"

I think those things have been worked on, I mean he's a title holder he should have cleared it up by now.

I'd rather see him knock out Margarito.

Berto was doing most the holding, hell he'd run up to him and basically clamp on, c'mon seriously it's not the first time he pulls this shit
agreeing with you on this one. and whats with the complaining about him being hit behind the head constantly. it was like 30 seconds into round 1 and he b****ed 3 times already.
