Sure was nice to see the old cotto body shot back, and he looked great last night. But i'm still not sure what direction i'd see him take. It's way too common for a guy to loose one fight and be called garbage and likewise a guy win one fight and he's automaticlly the next guy who can beat mayweather. Remember it was 15 minutes ago when most weren't even sure he'd beat foreman. We have to stop and remember cotto looked like a surgen last night but this was foreman he beat. Most of us picked him cause we weren't sure about cotto, not cause foreman was supposed to be this great fighter. Basically i'm just saying i'm not sure putting the guy in there with williams, martinez, or mayweather is what cotto needs. I think he needs a tough fight but not too tough. I say give him one more fight to get more in tune with steward, build his confidence even that much more and just plain let him get used to 154 a bit. Foreman i thought would frustrate cotto and get a decision, but he really is a soft puncher and really hadn't been in with anyone of note. I'd just rather see cotto succed a little bit especially after what he went through being cheated by that cunt margarito. What an effort by foreman last night bye the way as well.

Who do you consider elite at 154?
Just curious... Because I think he beats anyone of them on any given night.
For the record I only consider Martinez & Williams elite at this moment.
The rest are challengers/top contenders/title holders

    Williams
    Cintron
    Martinez
    Margarito
    Angulo
    Rhodes
I think Martinez and Williams beat him; I would have him as a big underdog in both those fights. Like you, those are the guys I really consider elite at 154's elite. I think Cintron is pretty much a 50/50 fight (I know I'll probably get laughed at for saying that), I've felt that way since they were both at welter.

I'd like to see Cotto - Angulo, I think Cotto would win because, frankly, I think Angulo is the definition of limited, but it would be a good fight.

I wouldn't laugh him and cintron would be interesting (maybe with some extra padding and pillows around the ring). Angulo is another i'd like to see. Both very winnable and not too too tough for the guy.

Still some big fights out there for Cotto.

Him and Berto is a great fan's fight. As most has mentioned Angulo would be a great opponent too.

I think we can probably expect to see him face the winner of Chavez Jr and Duddy. Personally I think Duddy can beat Chavez and I really a Cotto Duddy fight at Maddison Square Garden. The Irish will pack that and it would be a very fan friendly fight.

Yup a fight with Berto would be evenly matched, although I do think that Berto might still be slightly bigger considering he(Berto) was a middleweight as an amateur. While Martinez and Williams are middleweights squeezing tight in the welters or superwelter, Cotto a normal sized welter is small compared to these two.

Could be a tough fight for Cotto.

That Dziniruk guy has a great jab that could give Cotto problems.

I think Cotto would beat him though.

miguel cotto really fooled the hell out of me with his great win over foreman. i thought the man was done, especially after his loss to pacquiao. i guess it goes to show you what a big difference it makes when you have a great trainer. cotto's trainer when he fought pacquiao didn't prepare him like emmanuel steward had him prepared last night. i think if a rematch were to happen, cotto would beat pacquiao at 154. i think cotto looked alot like the pre-margarito cotto. his footwork, defense, offense, everything, was improved.

rematch shane at 154 would be the best option or very hypothetical a fight with saul alverez
he can even go for a 4th belt in weight division and challenge felix sturm, but that would never happen

Dzindziruk mick, he's world class! Spinks is gonna make anyone look bad!

I'd like to see him face Angulo or Cintron, maybe a Mosley return... or as someone mentioned: Berto.

I'm sorry but while I was impressed with Cotto's win the other night, Angulo steamrolls him and Martinez and Berto easily outbox him. At 154, he's too small. Foreman didn't test Cotto's resolve, at least not by the time his knee went out, but Angulo, Berto, and Martinez would, and I don't think Cotto would come out on top.

I can agree with Martinez outboxing him and Angulo breaking him down but Berto ? I don't think so.

He has good speed and sound boxing skills but his defense is questionable and his chin doesn't seem that good.

    Cotto would stop him imo.

I forgot about him. I would pick him to decision Cotto as well. I think he'd frustrate Miguel and keep him on the outside with his jab for the majority of the fight.

Angulo is crap....I haven't seen a guy so overhyped without really having any potential since Panchito Bojado.

Miguel Cotto wouldn't just stop Angulo, he'd outbox him AND make it look easy.

Unlike Margarito #1 Angulo's wraps won't be loaded and #2 He throws fewer and slower punches VERY simple to counter but you have to move your head and legs and the guys he has fought (bar the former Manny Steward charge Kermit Cintron) no one has either had the skill to do that or even tried to do anything other than fight Angulo's fight.

The reason Cotto will STOP Angulo when Cintron couldn't is easily answered LEFT HOOK TO THE BODY
