I believe that last punch should be called 'Le Bomb'

this kid really packs a punch. lemieux is legit. i remember watching russ abner's training videos with a skinny little kid who had perfect fundamentals. abner did a good job training him. it seems though that lemiuex is starting to gain a lot of weight though. or he's just growing and isn't mature yet in terms of growth.

Already when he was starting his career in the amateurs he had a reputation among the boxing circles in Quebec that he was packing tons of surprising power in both hands, I thought it might have been hyped a bit but time seems to confirm that he doesn't only pack very good power but phenomenal one. Dropping Camacho j.r in the first, that's indeed a good achievement.

That was a funny knock-out... Like Camacho Jr thought about taking a knee and then his brain just stopped working!

Camacho always had the body of a baby Galento. He looked short circuited trying to get up, stroked out.

Excellent KO, he seems to put so much into sitting and planting his punches. Tremendous power. Only thing for me is that Lemieux gets caught alot coming in. Camacho caught him a few times, so I guess if he steps up against someone with good movement and decent powerful counter-punching he might find himself in a spot of bother. He also has alot of momentum when he punches which will certainly help a counter puncher.

I don't see many at Middleweight that wouldn't get iced by a shot like that though.

    Agreed!

Now, the question is : "Is there any Middleweight that can avoid it and/or kept Lemieux at distance for 12 round."

Btw, the Kid's gonna fight again December 3rd

I don't want to be a downer on Lemieux, but he's impressing me less with this latest performance & becoming too reliant on his power, which is fine against a guy who is never a Middleweight or particularly good.

There was no jab, and his was being very predictable, which a better fighter would have dealt with. Straight right, left hook, right uppercut if he can get it in. Also when he eventually takes on someone with a little pulling power that they leave Canada, he won't be able to fight in 4x4 ring & will have to deal with using a bit more guile in cutting the ring off.

Don't get me wrong, all the ingredients are there physically, but unless he sharpens up his game he'll get found out by quality guys. His jab is even lazier than Danny Jacobs' & we saw what happens when you do that against a top-tier opponent.

You're just jealous the new king of the universe is from Canada and he has no flaws. Dam naysayer.

That's the thing though Jaz. That is just his style. He is a walk forward, dig in deep and hurt you fighter. Some guys use distance and angles. Others, well, other stuff. I don't suspect you will see a whole lot change in his style as he progresses. How well that style fairs in match ups against slicker opponents who can also slug we don't know yet. Time will tell. I know for certain if I was one of them, right now i'd be thinking..."gotdam...that had to hurt!"

Any relation to Mario Lemieux? I have to say watching fights in French is just as good as watching it in Japanese, you don't know wtf they are saying but love the excitement of the commentary.

Haha that's one of the reasons I started following Hasegawa, I mean the kid has quick hands and skills, but when the announcers are on it sounds like he's curing cancer and aids in the ring.

No there's no relation to Mario Lemieux. Well, no "close" relation. Lemieux is pretty popular among French Canadian.
