I don't know what to make of the fight, Vitali landed a right hand of course Solis' knee buckled as he was moving away, but hell he looked hurt (in the head) and his left leg didn't look that steady either.

Of all the results I hate that this one is the final outcome for Solis and for Vitali....who could now take another fight before Adamek.
I would figure you would choose to believe that right uppercut thats slightly grazed Solis fully KO'd him.

The fight shoulda been a No Contest. Instead it was hailed as a mighty Klitschko 1st round KO !

Either way it was a fuckin disgrace and not Vitali's fault that Solis hurt himself, or reinjured himeslt. Absolute farce of a fight, and Solis was looking good in there, coulda given Vitali a good fight who knows.

    Damn shame.

Yeah, and it looks like he didnt even have a rough training camp. Thats how sa the heavyweight division is, you beat Ray Austin and Monte Barrett and you get title shots....Thats why Teddy Atlas doesnt want Povetkin fighting a Klitshcko because he is honest and knows he isnt ready yet. That promoter is full of shit.

Dude he hit him on the top of the side of the head, he was going down from the punch not his weak ass chicken legs. Excuse caboose like a mofo.

It was the right call. Punch lands, fighter goes down without push, feet stepped on etc. Gets up, claims injury, ref really has no choice. Another example of why instant replay is a must for refs. What's the alternative, postpone ruling until an x ray? Slippery slope, fighters could start claiming secondary injury like crazy.

The punch didn't even land cleanly. Don't think that KO'd Solis or put him down. Don't really think it had any effect on him cept to cause him to try to get out of the way, fuck up his knee and go down. When's the last time Vitali KO'd anyone in one round ?

Go to about 2:50 in. Punch stops him in his tracks and he put his guard up. Look at his face he was like ouch that hurt. Look at the head and neck get jolted. Look at his left buckle, that happens when your spine gets jolted. Look at him land on the right and it slips out. Punch landed. So anyone that get knocked down can claim a knee injury and get a no contest? Come on dude. To the people saying Solis had a chance, not with that punch resistance no he didn't. Imagine once Vitali landed a real clean shot.

Yawn-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n!! Just par for the course, for the circus that passes for the heavyweight division these days. Not the first bizarre, unsatisfying ending to a heavyweight fight.... and certainly not the last. One question, though. Do these guys actually get paid for this shit?

I've watched the replay a good 5 times. The punch lands, but it is a glancing blow. WHAT did Lennox Lewis say about it ? He said it was a glancing blow and did not have much of an effect on Solis. Lennox believed that Solis entered the ring with a pre-existing injury, and I have to agree with him there. As far as Vitali landing a great clean KO blow, or even a solid punch that ended the fight, no I don't think so. Either way Solis blew it and will never get a shot like that again, least not against a Klitschko he won't.

It was a nothing blow, it was the leg that gave way. Solis was competitive in the round and then his leg gave out on him. No way did anything land cleanly and no way was anything more than his leg hurt. He has clearly buggered himself up with that.

Lennox Lewis? Yeah whatever he says is the gospel...lol. Thats like taking Lampleys word for who is landing punches in a fight.Well w/e it makes him look even worse to say it wasnt even a punch. I also makes his promoter/manager look like a complete dick to put there guy in with an exsiting injury. Especially a knee injury.

Maybe this will teach him to get into real shape from now on. If your carrying too much weight of course your joints are going to be under more strain than they should be and that is exactly what happened here. I must say I think the punch did stun him a bit though but I was never that confident in his chin anyway. Haye seriously hurt him with one shot when he was a skinny little amateur and was wearing big gloves and a head guard and Solis was in shape in those days!

Actually watching that back to me it looked clearly like it was nothing to do with the punch whatsoever. He takes a glancing blow which has no effect at all, then steps back a second or two later and his leg buckles from under him.

That video to me confirmed beyond doubt the punch was nothing to do with it.

Also he looked like he was limping from the opening bell, very sluggish.

And he was winning the round imo, I counted 4 times he landed on Vitali.

I kinda feel sorry for him now. He looked pretty good up to then, and from that angle you can clearly see it was the leg not the punch that hurt him.

Maybe he can come back. Early to say but he was making Vitali look bad.

As for Solis having a bad chin or weak punch resistance, he has shown no signs of that in his career.

As an amatuer Haye caught him with a helacious shot and he came back to stop Haye.

I still think he's the probably the fourth best fighter out there, and to be honest, fully fit, I think he could maybe have done something against Vitali.

Actually as soon as he gets up you can see him shaking his head at the corner as well. He knows his leg is busted. I would say it was absolutely nothing to do with the punch at all.

He goes down about 3 seconds after he gets hit, as soon as he steps back on his leg. It just gives out. He doesn't look hurt at all when he steps back either.

Oh and Vitali acted like a bitch afterwards. I'm willing Solis to come back and take out the Klitschko's and Haye now

I'm kind of in the same boat. I was hoping Vitali would produce a late career beatdown, but I was actually quite impressed with how sharp Solis looked. Sure, he is too heavy but he seems to have skills too. He was winning that round fairly clearly. Vitali was more active, but not really landing with anything. And then the leg went.

The shot that Vitali threw landed only partially and I didn't see a particularly pained look on the face of Solis from that. As you say, he stepped back and his leg went. There is no way to fake ligament damage nor continue with that kind of injury. His leg was totally gone.

Solis has gone up in my book, but I can see why everyone else wants to put him down. He got a pay day for a single round, but unlike someone like Audley, he actually looked pretty sharp for how long he lasted. Hopefully he will bounce back, learn his lesson and do well.
