Exactly out of his depth. How he won a world title is beyond me.
He won a world title by beating somebody who already had one. He dislocated his hip and was still throwing, give the guy a break.
Exactly @Greenbeanz. But it seemed a bit as I feared. Once he'd achieved the dream, the desire wasn't there anymore. Not sure I'd both with the rematch. Injuries are too much and I think he wouldn't win it anyway. And @Silkeyjoe, don't give us bullshit that Macklin is a deserving champion. That dude has lost every time he steps up and has the nerve to talk about levels. Barker would have beaten the sorry shit outta Macklin if he hadn't ran for the hills.
I didnt say Macks a deserving champ, I just said hes better then Barker. None of them are deserving champs. GGG is the middleweight champ. Until you beat him you are not deserving. Exception for Martinez.
Nobody will ever change my mind on this, Matthew Macklin is an average at best fighter. Barker would have boxed his head off. I think Murray is likely the best of them but the reason Macklin always loses when he steps up is because he aint that good. He woukd have lost to Geale if he'd got the shot. Barker's desire to win it won him the world title. I think as soon as he achieved that it was time to retire. And technically, GGG aint the middleweight champion until he beats Sergio Martinez.
