Surely 49-0-0 ain't that hard if all you face is garbage...
Good to see you finally telling some truth about Mayweather at the end of your post.

I have no issue with Marciano's career. He fought some bums and he fought some very good fighters. Unlike Mayweather he couldn't run up and down the weights avoiding fighters, he just fought who he could in the division available to him a little bit like Wlad does today.

Marciano was a limited HW in that he wasn't very big or tall or technical, but he always found a way and you have to respect that. I respect Mayweather in a similar way, but think he cherry picked the last decade of his career and is plain boring and ugly to watch.
Well said sir. Everyone knows, I've said it before, Marciano couldn't have fought competitively against the big heavyweights that began appearing in the 60s.
He would be fighting as a cruiserweight today. Who knows if he fought once a year and had a good conditioning coach he might even be able to catchweight a fight at super middleweight. Hell, Joe Frazier was taller than Marciano!
He was lucky enough to fight when he did and he made the most of it, what more can you ask of a fighter?
Most pro fighters start out fighting tomato cans as some call them, it will probably be that way forever, how else could they become experienced? Did Marciano ever say he was the best ever?
Floyd Mayweather is a different can of worms altogether. Floyd tells everyone who will listen he is the best ever. That makes him fair game for everyone. That's an invitation to one an all to discuss his greatness and every piece of F*CKERY he pulled during his career. Floyd has accomplished more in boxing than any other fighter so far, nobody can argue about that, but is he the best ever in the ring? That's under discussion.
