I don't think along these lines. He doesn't sign a fighter to necessarily put him in with another of his top guys straight away, it's a bit short sighted. He then loses earning potential for one of his guys.
What is likely however, is he uses Warrington to attract Selby, guaranteeing Selby the Frampton fight if he beats Warrington. That way Selby gets 2 big paydays, Warren gets 2 big events , not withstanding what happens after that.
Don't think it makes sense for Warren to invest in Warrington and build up the Leeds thing just to use him as a tune up merchant.
