I think Duran would win by UD but you have to remember that regardless of what people think, Duran did not have the greatest competition at lightweight. His greatest competition came in the 1980s when he had the luxury of using the excuse that he was slowing down or too high in weight. I think he wins a UD against Shane. I used to think he would knock out Shane but I have been thinking about Duran's lightweight competition. Alot of guys on his record were good but not great at all. Buchanan and Viruet and DeJesus being the best of the lot, and they were not that great. So you would have to say Shane at lightweight would be one of the best guys Duran ever fought, and Shane had I think over 200 amatuer fights. I do not see demolishing by Duran here. No way. His lightweight competition was not that great. But he was a great fighter for having 70-1 record when he fought Ray. But fact Sugar Ray Leonard was very inexperienced and he fought Duran's fight and still Duran could not stop an inexperienced fighter. Duran fought well against the guys who stood in front of him and gave him the shots to land. In a way his style is good for bigger guys who think they can outpunch him. As for Ray,then Ray came back and beat him easily in two fights. Could Shane have beat him? Who knows.. It would have been hard for Duran. I give him the benefit just because he fought at Lightweight longer and had more wins there.
