As a beginner, IMO, you're BEST to train with different people. It exposes you to more fight philosophy. I used to work mitts with anyone who was available. Then, once you move beyond that beginner stage, you'll likely stick with one guy because you like the style. Now I stick to one or two guys too because their philosophies are very similar.
See, trainers have a habit of teaching the way THEY were taught, or the way THEY liked to fight. But that doesn't always mean THEIR way is best for YOU. Only YOU can figure that out over time.
For example, we have one trainer at our gym...a very good trainer...but he won't let guys get square for any reason. I like to square up on my combos and inside...it's comfortable for ME...he don't like that, so I don't work with him. Nothing personal, great guy, but his style isn't quite right for ME.
