A few other little pointers just in case what helped me helps you too (no guarantees that it will):

1) Glucosamine with chrondoitin + MSN - get it, take it!

2) Get some treatment. If one type of professional doesn't help you try another. For me a physio I saw didn't really help at all.

A chiro did, not just because she helped my back but because she corrected a 'twist' in my knee which I think I get when my back is really bad. I'm prone to it because my knee cap moves easily since the grove it sits in is shallow and the ligaments around it have excessive laxity.

This is not something I found much info on looking on the net but she could show me how much my knee cap could move compared to hers etc and I heard the clunck when she adjusted my knee and she has helped a lot more than anyone else I've seen.

Other problems she wouldn't be able to help me with though so I guess just don't limit yourself to one type of health professional if you're not getting good results within a few months.

3) OK 2 obvious things but just in case:

What kind of floor are you skipping on? Anything other than sprung floor boards is probably going to do you some type of damage. I know a guy who won a national title - was going really well but then his back was totally screwed up (stress fractures apparently) from skipping on hard surfaces and I haven't heard of him being able to compete at all or do anything for over a year.

Also how do you know your shoes are the right ones for you - did anyone look at what you feet do (rolling in or out) and specifically recommend them to you or is it just that they were pricey?
