Let me explain
Ricky Hatton is probably the best fighter at cutting off the ring, and when Mayweather didn't want to get caught on the ropes he wasn't... Most of the time he lets his opponent put on the ropes anyways, I mean how often did he really use lateral movement off the ropes against Oscar? Cotto lacks the footspeed to corner Mayweahter if he doesn't want to be cornered, look how easy it was for MOsley to keep away when he actually was moving around, and Judah just backs up into a corner and doesn't adjust his defense at all so he's easy to hit.
About getting bruised, Mayweather fought tough physical fights with Castillo, Dela Hoya, Hatton was a rough fight, Emmanuel Burton, Chavez... there are more, but the list goes on.
How did Mayweather get away with murder against Oscar? Because he outboxed at least 75% of the rounds? Did Ali get away with murder back in his prime? Or Roy Jones Jr against James Toney? Mayweather obviously doesn't look as dominant as Roy JOens becauase he is so much smaller compared to Oscar than Roy was against the best guys he faced, but punch stat wise Mayweather did better against Oscar than Roy did against Toney.
The feud... fuck the feud that only fuels this fight more. Arum would have no problem putting Cotto in with Mayweather, and if the money and the publicity is right Mayweather wouldn't have a problem facing Cotto.
As for Cotto being a real champion with heart? Mayweather has as much determination and drive as anyone in boxing. On top of his unbelievable athletic ability he is maybe the smartest tactician, along with Bernard, to be fighting today, or ever. Because of all his abilities even fighting high level fighters, Corrales, Castillo, Oscar, Judah, Hatton look easy because he, Floyd, does everything, and does everything better than anyone else.
