I'm a big fan of Nirvana. And Kurt Cobain and Oasis were really great buddies. Their music have lots in common.

Don't get me wrong. I like Oasis. I even play their music in my little garage band with my brothers and friends. But I'm not that really crazy about them.
Oasis will always go down as the biggest british band to never crack america.

Hence why in the UK, Ireland, australia etc they noel and liam gallagher are household names and wonderwall, roll with it are not just songs but anthems.

Go to america though and you`ll be hard pushed to find people who even know of oasis let alone are fans of them

I personally grew up listening to oasis and the whole era their music brought to british society as a whole therefore they`ll always be my fave band however wanky their music gets (did you hear there last album )
Oasis had the bad fortune to hit America while the grunge scene was in force - their music wasn't raw enough to appeal to a lot of people into that type of music. They did get a decent push over here, though - more people here know of Oasis than you might think. We still play Wonderwall in our acoustic set, and it always gets a good reaction from the crowd.
